Pretty cool!! Looks like they are using a fiber for strength. It definitely gives it a very organic look. **By the way, Claire….I just tried out a new product by Colour Arte called Purely Pigments and the color load is amazing. It’s also archival and won’t bleed or fade. I’ve used it in epoxy resin, Aqua Resin (similar to Jesmonite), in Gloss varnish for stained glass affect and also all by itself. Dries fast and is permanent. I’ve reached out to the company and asked her to send you some so Leslie will be contacting you.

I loooove the plate!!! But I liked the pink tray before the sand. 😃❤

LOVE, LOVE the natural "sandstone" tray, Claire! 😍💕 Love the natural color and the texture is AWESOME! It looks so old, like something you dug up on an archeological dig site! Do more, do more!! Maybe a mossy green and natural tray next? The pink tray is also really cool! 👍

Herculight casting powder is very good and a hard powder and a bit cheaper if you spray your moulds with rinse aid you will find your item easy to get out of its mould wet and dry 3,000 grit you will get a perfect finish but thank you for the review on the casting 😊

I like combining different textures. This looks absolutely fascinating. I'd be curious to see how durable this is after fully curing. Very interesting!

I absolutely love the way this looks! It definitely looks like stone. An older, cracked and chipped stone that has been cherished over the years! You can achieve so many diffrent looks with this product! Personally I was really getting tired of watching people stick anything and everything into clear resin 🙄 The fact that this isn't going to harm people or destroy the Earth is so important! ☺ 🙃 ☺ I hope it's available where I live. Definitely need some!
@katstorm13 Жыл бұрын
While of course using more eco friendly products is great, I think you judging resin crafters by implying that they're destroying the earth is rude. Hobbyist craft resin is barely a drop in the ocean compared to where most plastic waste comes from. How much of your clothing and shoes are made from synthetic materials? They're a *huge* contributor of the total plastic waste we consume.

For some reason your final plate reveal reminded me of old Italy, the stone work, old olive oil jugs etc. I love it!

I LOVE this texture effect. The effect that you got from your dropped plate looks fantastic . Just gives it an industrial feel.. ore of something that has been dug up in an archaeological dig. Gotta get me some of that! ❤

They both ended up nice. The redo with the broken pieces came out really nice. Everything does not have to end up smooth and shiny to be an awesome piece. I'm sure many "purists" were aghast when Jackson Pollock dared to take a turkey baster to splatter paint all over a canvas. To each their own.😉 I like both the trays you did 😃👍❤️

Have no idea how or why but your channel just showed up on my feed one day and I must say and I am LOVING IT!! Do you have any videos that talk about the difference between jasminite, resincrete and resin, when you would use one vs the other or something like if you are making this use this one or this is best for this use? Also I am probably late with this question but what is ECO and why use it? Thank you for all the great information!
@ClairesCraftyCorner Жыл бұрын
Heyyyyyyy lovely ... thankyou so much I actually don't have a comparison video on all of them ... but Eco pours are very popular right now as an alternative to Resin. Epoxy resin comes with a whole heap of things that you need to use like PPE .. Heat tools.. blow torches it is a lot more versatile in what can be done ... but Eco pours are basically a safer Eco Friendly alternative. A dust mask is all that's needed and it's fast .. really fast curing art medium.
@deborahcorreale352 Жыл бұрын
@@ClairesCraftyCorner wow thank you for replying. I watched your videos making the trays and I was thinking of making myself a palette for watercolor paint and wondering which one would be better not ready to make one out of ceramic that’s a big investment. Lol

#replay. Missed the premier but WOW this video was sooooo crazy! I love when you can take an oops and make something so amazing. And I truly appreciate that you usually make stuff that makes sense - if you know what I mean lol So many channels are all about technique but not really making stuff I would use/display/gift. I mean I enjoy the ASMR of that sometimes but I find myself wanting to make something after I watch your videos! 💕💕

What side of the sand paper sticks to the sander? Normally it's the white side. The rust coloured side is normally the sanding side. I'm probably wrong, maybe you have a different sander to the one I have. Love your ideas
@MommaMia-k8t11 ай бұрын
I love the black and sand! Nicely done. Question. If you get water on it (unsealed), does it absorb it and weaken it?

Looks so cool with the chunky black. What does the back look like. Some of the ecos have such lumpy backs I think they will scratch up my table so I usually add cork, but think that ruins the look a little.
@katstorm13 Жыл бұрын
It adds another step but could you sand the lumpy bits down? Wouldn't need to start with a rough grit like this I'd think
