You got a great result there! 😁😁 When I used orange slices in resin once, even though they were 'dried' they still went brown over time 😢 I say 'dried' because they were still a bit sticky in the bag, and I think not thoroughly dehydrated.

It's a real Christmas in a pot eh, pot! 💜 It reminds me of the ice lanterns I did as a kid. Those usually had fresh orange slices and pine or just plain ice. They also melted fairly quickly due to the tealight inside.

Claire, this is beautiful! This would make a lovely candle with a few Tea lights in the bottom, or a small string of mini lights. I've made something similar with water, a bundt pan, some decorations and my deep freezer. It was strictly for outdoor use. I have only one bundt pan, so it took quite a while (a week or two!) to make them. I sat one on each of my 3 front steps with a real and very small candle in each. It looked fantastic, but a real pain to have to go out and replace/or relight the candles every evening. If I try this again, I'll use larger sized LED lights as they weren't really bright enough to light the steps. It's gonna be a pain going out to turn them on and off, but still should be pretty enough. Thank you so much for reminding me of this, and for a very inspiring video!

You could use a sander to flatten out one side of those pinecones. Just a suggestion if you really want to use them.
@SunshineSomeday6 сағат бұрын
Claire, could use attach the berries with just a tiny dot of UV resin to keep them where you want them? You could even attach them with the UV while it was turned wrong side out, I'd think. This turned out lovely.
@ClairesCraftyCorner5 сағат бұрын
heyyyyy my lovely - the thought crossed my mind - but I thought it would be too tricky with the depth - and light and might not work x definitely worth a try :)

I've got this mold, I use it to make concrete pots.
@Leena797 сағат бұрын
A beautiful creation! It reminds me of the ice lanterns we make here in Finland by freezing a bucket of water outside, then before it's frozen solid, we break the ice surface and a lantern is ready. The ice lanterns are for outdoor use, but this is an elevated indoor version of them. I love it! For the pine cones... would it be possible to make a silicone inlay of them? Like, so that the pine cone would be only partially submerged, and you'd get a shallow mold? An inlay would require first the casting with a submerged pine cone, and then making an inlay of that...
@ClairesCraftyCorner5 сағат бұрын

Winter pot! Not just Christmas 😃 I wonder if you could have taken a hammer and mashed a pinecone to get some of the "petals" of the pinecone into the pot. I also may have just used the caps off the tops off the acorns? For a more woodland look? Still cane out very pretty 😊👍❤
