I keep hearing about Clairo, so I finally checked her out. Amazing! I am so psyched to see young people getting into this kind of underproduced, jazzy, kind of music. I was afraid Clairo was schlocky pop, but no - a stepping stone to Laufey perhaps? When is the Ella revival going to happen?

I am only referencing this video,@@RadioKnive. As I said, I am just checking her out. This is not overproduced, and her voice is amazing here. This is not schlocky pop. Anyone who can a write an album that sells as well as Charm does and still pull off a low key, live, performance like this is OK by me. Sierra Ferrel's last two albums were a little over produced; that tends to happen when you go in the studio. It is what you do outside the safe, scripted, polished, realm that makes the difference between a Sierra or a Clairo and say, Kamala Harris...

This man is a musical genius and It’s hard to quantify these types of things but I would say obviously Claire is 100% responsible of the writing and lyrics but the actual textures of the entire immunity record are I would say at least half due to this man. A short story When Claire began teasing the album, I couldn’t help but leave a comment on her Instagram regarding the great improvement in production considering her prior release f.h.c ( which I’m sorry Claire I love you ! But this song is but this best ) was a self admitted flop to which she said to myself personally as well as taking the video down from her catalogue . In my comment I described how great of an artistic and career move it was to have this man produce her record. Although she did not say it outright , she surely implied that her label bosses were attempting to steer her into a more pop and I guess ... bubble gum style ? She wanted to be a guitar playing bad ass which she totally was but I’m sure that at this particular moment she was at a crossroads of sorts. She probably wanted a legitimate producer with critical as well as commercial success , but due to her ONLY misfire perhaps was having a hard time finding one? Ok sorry if I’m wrong here baby benz but I will admit this is pure speculation . Anyways , how I got to the point of speaking to her was through my mentioning of Rostams involvement being an excellent and quite Frankly ballsy move. I can bet no one expected the musical director behind vampire weekends excellent discography to be remotely interested in working with her with a total of three official releases under her belt . Pretty girl , a great pop song but under produced and for sure it’s success was at least partly owed to the hilarious home made video. Flaming hot Cheetos was bad. Bad bad bad. But 4ever ! A-ha, this is the song that made me a fan and probably had something to do with “ this guys “ involvement in producing the ENTIRE album. As a musician i can tell you i would go quite far to have this msn behind the boards of ONE song let alone my entire debut album. Needless to says he agreed completely and spoke at length to me about his influence on the sound of the album. I sort of got the feel she was admitting her record wouldn’t be half as good if she had gone with the labels choice or had taken the 4ever approach which involved four writers? Cmon dude , as much as I love the track Claire is a rare and exceptional talent who needs not take the Rihanna / Katy perry route of assembly line song writing . Anyways I’m sure you said the comment in jest, but I want to let the world know Claire told me herself thst went into the studio with songs written exclusively to acoustic guitar and that rostam was responsible for the majority of the arrangements . Without him I would like to bet immunity would not be one of my favorite albums of the last couple years ....

And I wish I could tune his guitar playing out to enjoy the song. I really wanted to hear Clairo just play this song acoustically.
