Trying to figure out why the drive through alleys...trying to make the city look worse than what it truly is? Born&raised there. Bear for life, head up/back straight!

Do you think PA needs to lower it's taxes? Seems like people are running from the state.

My hometown. I grew up at 863 School Street and went to St. Clare's School shown at 3:32. At 5:35, there st the corner of Miller Avenue and St. Clair Avenue was a Thrift Drug Store. We used to catch the bus to go to Southland Shopping Center OR all the way to "dahntahn Picksburgh"

Wondering if you knew my cousins, the DeMaio girls (Denise, Patty and Janice)? I used to visit from New Jersey and spend time over the summer with them.

No jobs. No people. Houses become empty and businesses leave. Decline of a neighborhood.

I grew up in Clairton. City died a hard death when the Mill closed. You drove past the Catholic School where I went in 1,2nd grade. This was a strong middle class city. Now, it has degraded into this. Sad

Wow, I lived in Clairton back in the mid 1960s. I was a little girl then about 5 or 6 and seeing this is just heartbreaking. I lived on Ivy Street and used to love going with my mom to Isaly's for a cone or a klondike bar. My mom used to shop at Skapik's for our clothes. So many good memories. We moved to New Jersey by the time I reached 3rd grade as my dad got a good job there. Thanks for the tour but it is really hard to wrap my head around the sadness of all this.

@@joecampbell2066 Hi Joe. Sorry, as we moved when I was 8 I really can't remember any classmates from grammar school! Interesting though my favorite cousins (the DeMaio's) lived at 869 School Street so you may have known them. They have all since moved away from Clairton.

My house was set on fire back in 2012, I remember being very upset about it but now that I look at the city, I'm glad I left. it has become a very depressing looking city.

It looks like a ghost town. Also, where are the people? I know this was recorded during the pandemic. But you should still see more people out on the streets. I don't know, maybe it's because I live in a big city with millions of people. So I'm always accustomed to seeing a lot of people outdoors, compared to smaller cities!!!

And the title of this video needs to have the word hood taking out of it because hood is not the community hood is what people are hoods. There are a lot of good people that comes from this city and there are some bad people that need to be locked up that's what makes the community bad the people that cannot live civilized but other than that it is a good City it needs rebuilt and people need to take care of their community and once again there needs to be major job opportunities in this city like big businesses they need to tear down the clerican steel mill and put a waterfront with a lot of businesses down there and higher felons and give them a second chance then Clariton can come back like the way it was back in the day but once again my hometown got a lot of love for this city always.

OMG you went up Vankirk St. that's where I grew up. You passed my house. It's been abandoned since my family and I moved out in 1988. I was 15. It was a great neighborhood back then. The town was very nice until you went way downtown. I loved living there. It's such a shame to see how horrible the place has become. It makes me wanna cry. I had so many great times on my street hanging out with my friends. I miss those days. I'm now 50. 😔

WOW 😳 very cool seeing the olé "hood" I have a small request, next video when you're on Miller Ave turn onto Thompson Ave and go around the stadium also Jefferson Dr.area (up on the hill) and also the little playground off 10th& McPherson, Ravensburg bridge & into Clairton park; that'd be pure AWESOMESAUCE 👌🥰 If you could squeeze Peter's Creek in there somehow I'd appreciate it 😎. Seriously thanks, for posting but to be fair, those places that are rotting away have looked like that since 1982.. Sad as hell but it's a City with soul, it'll come back someday🤞 (if it does, I'd move back 👌💯)

Why would people vote for anyone that is not bring new industries into their city/town? Having only one is why we get this all over the U.S. Then the city's keep the tax high only give a short time to repair the houses and do not let you recycle the houses etc. To much government and to much tax = this all over the U.S. What a waste. If the bureaucrats were gone, Life would return.

Clairton is one of the most desperate-looking towns in America. Especially at the time of year the video was made. At least beer is cheap there. It's not unlike many of the coal region towns near where I live, in NE Pennsylvania - Tamaqua, Summit Hill, Mahanoy City, Shenandoah, Mt. Carmel, etc.
