the dwarf varible is crazy I just quit on a campaign where the main dwarf faction Thorgrim actually got wiped out, slayers also getting wiped and zhufbar the vampires were beating the order as well getting into my Hirn region, the ally factor is powerful and can go etiher way. I was a dominant threat by turn 15 or so lol which compared to every other faction in the area I was like a gigachad

I played this campaign and his buffs to minors blasting charge ammo made them my favorite unit, I use them as archer type units, placed them behind the front line, they get so many kills for a understated unit.

The blasting charges can get some immense damage value - and set you up to trade well against that unit with the Miners! Plus they have good AP melee damage for such an early game unit so they can provide value in a couple ways. I suppose my biggest concern is just that they don't last for much outside of that. Once their blasting charges are used up they really aren't much good in extended melee combat against equal forces, and they don't have shields to protect from missile fire. I still like to bring a couple with me in most campaigns I play but I do find they under-perform in any battle that goes beyond the initial engagement waves. Sounds like you've found something fun that works well for you which is always great to hear!

If you want to rush eight peaks you do not need to rush rangers at all. Upgrade barracks building so you can recruit quarrelers in 2 turns. When you are able to leave your province on the 4th turn after having conquered it on the 3rd you will have managed to recruit 2 quarrelers on the turn before you leave and 2 miners with blasting charges or whatever else you like on the 1 turn. Rush over to eight peaks. Use catapult you got from confederation and transferred from the new army you got to destroy wall towers. Run runesmith close to the wall, destroy ranged units with rune of wrath and ruin. Keep it up until most of them are dead while dodging ranged attacks if there are any. If you feel like you can finish the enemy off with your army do so although it might be best to retreat and then redo the battle since there will be plenty of spawned towers inside at this point. I dont remember what turn I get this done but its really early and really easy. Dont even need a full army. The battle will however take a while even with fast forward so prepare a movie or something to watch on the side.

Hey Hawkeye, I've tried the "quick 8 Peaks conquest"? I've seen a couple of creators do the campaign where they take 8 Peaks within 19 turns, but that seems steep to me. I came reasonably close in one attempt but it's pretty brutal and it might have worked in more like....25 turns. Problem is, the Greenskins are just stacking armies at 8 Peaks early on. Having said that, I would love to play Belegar more if they do some sort of rework. He's a beast early on, especially with the weaker infantry factions that he's surrounded by, like the Skaven and Sartosa. On a side note, have you seen the Nanu Sartosa Rework mod? Really good. That makes Sartosa my favorite faction. Check it out if you have not tried it.

I haven't seen that mod - I'll have to check it out! I ought to try the early migration campaign sometime. But I'm sure it's tough, you have to arrive at the right opportunity and have the right skills to win those tough battles as well. The traditional campaign is tough too though - it's a good challenge campaign but I think the player has good tools to work with either way!

Took core province, confederated Karak Hirn, got treaties with good factions and got paid by border princes to war dec on skrag, took Matorca and wrecked ogres....Sartosa attacks and takes Bhufdar. Only two recruitment slots makes it hard to get an army in time to defend. Have plenty of gold from treaties but just don't have the time to recruit units. Think Belegar needs 3-4 slots from the beginning.

You may just have to try and slot in the building to expand your recruit slots if it's an issue, otherwise you kind of have to anticipate these kinds of attacks more in game 3. However this is why I recommend in this guide that the player doesn't target Skrag first - Sartosa is closer and will definitely attack you while Skrag may find other targets (which can even include Sartosa!). It seems reasonable to go for Skrag at first glance but I've found it to be a trap from the few campaigns I've played.

New minor patch this week. Sartosa started clapping Border Princes hard and then came for me very early

Had to restart and take Karak Hirn confed (didnt realize its now a 3 region province) and took no treaties with Border Princes, and was ready for Sartosa to come at me. Going better.

Yeah I might not have mentioned it in my Patch 2.2 highlights, but of course only weeks after making this guide they moved Skrag a bit! I haven't played the campaign since then so I can't say how it's affected things but I doubt that the start works out the same or that Sartosa and Skrag end up doing the same things and going to war at the same time. I can see it being helpful and I can also see it being hurtful. But hopefully the other advice has helped, it sounds like you're well on your way to success still!

I just CANNOT Fing understand this campaign, every new game they DRASTICALLY change the method your ALLOWED to take to retake 8 peaks, even on normal its near impossible, turn 10 I have a full beastmen DOOMSTACK, ogre and multiple sartosa and skaven grand alliance stacks all rushing to kill me, if I manage to survive the never ending onslaught and manage to send an agent out to scout the world its almost entirely taken over by orks of multiple different tribes, its alike an apoc game near turn 22 where multiple doomstack waaghs are roaming the world map and most factions have been obliterated and its down to about less than 50 factions, is it me or is something wrong with the AI and its aggression level?

Well personally I play on Legendary campaign and Very Hard battle difficulty. I did not experience these issues that you ran into - in fact in this very guide I recommend going a little slow and staying small at first, as it will cause these forces to fight one another. You do have to be careful about managing your own strength levels and what fights you take too. If you suffer heavy losses in battle you will appear weak to enemies - then they declare war on you and even when you're strong again they may not want peace. Or you could just be over-expanding. This is a campaign where money is a little tighter than many others and so you have to make sure you only really take what you can protect and focus on fighting one enemy at a time. I certainly haven't seen any campaigns where there's only 50 factions left by turn 22 as well. Perhaps it is some mods you have enabled? In the end I don't think this campaign was too different from WH2's, the major difference is the factions which have been moved around on the map. But it ends up playing out largely in the same ways regardless.
