I absolutely agree with the walkable living location vs needing to drive or take transportation for everything and saving with rent. We bought in a cheaper area, but we're in the middle of nowhere. It's an hour one way to Costco. So we end up making up the difference with having to go far. But our town itself is really walkable, so I don't drive most days. It's all such a balance!

I think as long as you have the money saved, or are still making money as you travel, it's not a problem. The pink puffer jacket was worth it. My favourite pink shade is dusty pink - so much so that was the colour of my wedding dress! Confused all the people attending.

It's crazy how much it costs to eat out. I used to eat out a couple times a week a few years ago when I would go out with friends to open mic nights, but since I've stopped going to the pubs and grocery shop and eat at home, I save so much more money. That pink coat looks so pretty! That's nuts that it cost over %200! If a coat is more than $50, I walk away and try to find a different store.

I love Aldi’s but the closest one to me is 2 hours away. I used to stock up when visiting my Mom but she moved. Publix is great but they are definitely pricey! Most NFL stadiums allow you to bring unopened water bottles in so you don't spend the $5 again if you guys catch another game in another city. That jacket is killer!!!!

You’re definitely overspending by staying in south end. I definitely understand the want to be there though. It’s super nice. One of the nicest places in Charlotte. That being said, my 2 roommates and I split a super nice 3 bedroom house in the Northlake area for $1900 per month and it’s only about a 10 min drive to south end. You’re just paying for convenience. If you really enjoy Charlotte, definitely take a look at other housing options. Even uptown is cheaper than south end. My friend rents a 1 bedroom directly above Whole Foods for $1200 per month. Just a tip! I hope you end up choosing Charlotte though. There’s sooo many benefits to living in this area. The cost of living is also much better than most places as long as you’re not eating at flower child all the time 😉 I know you know this though. Please if you get a chance, check out other places in NC as well. Asheville is the most elite city in the state. Boone is always amazing as well. Especially in the winter.
