This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Clannad are amazing. I came back today because I have been feeling melancholy and this song is soothing, even though it has a sad tone to me. It helped me to have a good cry.

I grew up listening to Clannad and they are one of the few groups which make me proud to come from the land of Ireland. Great musicianship and and the sublime voice of Maire Brennan. We are just passing through and music like this anchors us to our past ancestry. Sometimes it is good to take a break and reflect on life. I've never been to Ireland and I don't know anything about where this is, but I'll bet it's a beautiful place. No other people is as good as the Irish when it comes to a good heart-rending song and Clannad is the best of the best. As I sit here in the Blue Ridge I can close my eyes and it almost seems like I am transported 3000 miles to there.

I saw Clannad live in the summer of '76 in Gweedore, Donegal while at the gaeltacht in Loch An Iuir. A highlight of that summer it was for me agus Is buachaill on Eirne ata me.

Quite right! Moya's voice is as nice as her sister Enya's to me. I just watched this and realized that the video that is shown during the music actually is, I am pretty sure, video footage for another song entirely. I think I have seen this video as a music video for the song/hymn "Athair ar Neamh" by Enya (EIthne). It is filmed in Gleann Nimhe in Dún Lúiche in the Gaoth Dobhair area where Enya, Moya and family were born and brought up. Beautiful place

I wouldn't say that. As of 2021 there are many, many fine young songwriters, singers, and musicians performing their art in Ireland, and for that matter all over the world. The concept of superstars and supergroups is waning mainly due to the advent of accessible multimedia imo.

Daithi...like many words in Irish, "leo" can have more than one meaning. Yes, it can mean "with them," but "mo leo," specificially, is a dialect expression meaning something along the lines of "alas."
