SenRang Honestly I have to agree. I think the whole illusionary world bullshit was too fake and cheesy. The story is put together well, and it makes sense when you think about in a KyoAni sort of way. But it's simply too ridiculous in an anime where I felt as though the moral was that life sucks and you move on, because literally the exact opposite happens. I honestly felt the saddest part of Clannad After Story was Yusuke's backstory. I genuinely don't see what's remotely sad about that ending. Pretty much all of the "sad" was cut from their lives. All it did for me was piss me off.

With the way the "Real" ending is, the feels come from the ride and the not the destination, but even so i tend to fall back on the second to last episode as what would've really happened, which is depressing beyond depressing. I think an ending somewhere between the two would've been best, but either way doesnt negate that clannad was one hell of a feel trip

Dear Kyle, My father passed away in November of 2013. During the time before hand, I was taking care of him. He was very sick, the situation was truly horrifying. At night (the only time I had alone) I would put my headphones on and listen to you playing this song. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this. It made the darkest days a little better. Now when I listen to this song, I can think of him. It brings me back to all of those moments and feelings. Thank you for all of this. Oh, yes. I agree with that. And apparently my tears felt a bit like something flying into my eyes, and it wasn't fun. But yeah, this song is bringing back all those memories. Both the happy and the sad ones. In fact, there were two distinct parts where the feels were at the max. First, around ep 10, then the end in the After Story. Oh, boy. Those two hit me hardest. SPOILERS AHEAD I loved Clannad and Clannad Afterstory so much. Every person in that anime were so beautiful and strong in their own ways. Kyo loved Ryo so much she was willing to give up her love for Ryo, and Ryo loved Kyo so much she was willing to give up her love for Kyo. Kotomi lost her parents and her ability to socialise properly, and perhaps also lost her perception of sound. Fuko loved her onee-chan that even while she was unconscious and hanging on the edge of life and death, her spirit wouldn't rest. It wanted to make starfish for her sister as an invitation to all the students, because her sister always wanted to get married in the school. Nagisa was weak as a child, and all she wanted was to live as a normal human being. She never fit in with the students, because she was older than all of them (this also means that she's actually older than Tomoya. Surprise.) And when she met Tomoya she realised she found someone truly special to her, and Tomoya did too. I think I cried on every single arc. Especially in Afterstory when Tomoya forgave his father, and yes when Nagisa and Ushio died. This song is so symbolic and was the link between Nagisa's world and the other universe where the Robot and the Girl existed. I love this song because of how significant it was because it represented different things depending on who sang it and why.

Amazing themes and well thought out story as well as charecters that draw you into the story more and more as you go along in that story. That to me is Clannad. Honestly, Clannad is an anime to which I can relate a lot to. The feelings in that anime are just overwhelming. I see people say that a normal human being with feelings should break out in tears over this. But to say the truth, I am a messed up person who feels nothing for the most part. Clannad is one of the anime that made me cry even, maybe because I relate so much to it and the lead characters. I don't know exactly either. But I can say this. This song and 1 more make me cry every time when I hear it. And this version of the song, just the piano version of the song hits me more then the original. I don't know why. But Kyle... I can just say that this version (not to mention the other song/pieces you preform) gives me hope to just live on. Please keep going

Apalagi08 I used to skip the ending in season one because i was like," What a dumb song," but when season 2 came around and Nagisa dies, ESPECIALLY THEIR DAUGHTER, I cried every. Time. I cried more when the daughter died. J couldn't do it. This was so beautiful 😭😭

I realized this comment is really late and will probably drown in the comment section, but I just wanted to put my thoughts here. I love Clannad, I always have (since I've seen it) and always will love it. It has most definitely been one if my top favorite anime's. It broke my heart, but I learned so much from it. It was sad, but heart warming. Everytime I listen to the songs from Clannad, I cry. I definitely recommend Clannad to everyone who hasn't seen it (and to people who just like watching it over and over). Thank you for playing this on piano, it is beautiful.

Even in ten years after you've watched clannad, every time you hear this song, there will always be a field of emotions waiting ahead for you, and in the back of your mind you will be thinking of how much this anime has had an such a big affect on you, which only makes you cry even more. Clannad connected with me the very first time I'd ever saw the first episode. I'm a junior in high school, never once did I have a boyfriend, mainly because I am very shy and lack confidence, but I have so many fun friends that support me like family. They were there for me when I spent so long crying about how my closest friends became people I didn't know anymore while I'm still frozen in time. We're even working together to start an anime club in our school after I told one of my friends that I really wanted to start one. All of these things were how my life was before, and now after watching it completely, I feel more desperate to get my biggest goals, and be with my friends as one big family. I'm sorry I bothered you with my problems.

It's not at all cliche! And I truly mean it when I say make the best of your life because everybody deserves a chance to get out in the world and show everybody what they are worth. Some people have a hard time accepting that everybody is equal but what they need to realize is that if they are allowed to have great opportunities then why can't others? Keep this in mind that no matter what may happen to you along your ways in life, theres always somebody who will be there to help you back up again.

I’m a little late but I just have to say how much I love Clannad,Clannad After Story. So many memories from this anime series. It is one of the only anime’s that changed my life for the better I will always love this amazing series and it will always be my favorite anime of all time. I’m so grateful I found this anime and that so many people around the world love this anime series the way I do. I was feeling down with all that’s happening in the world especially here in America and I rewatched this series and it reminded me that I should appreciate the finer things in life.
