I went to a Clannad concert in Wythenshawe, Manchester a few months before this recording was made. I have been to many concerts in my life (I am now aged 72) and this concert was one of the top three. The other two were Bob Dylan in Dublin with Elvis Costelloe as the "support" act "( ?) about 1997 and with Carole King and Van Morrison joining in the fun at the end of the show. The other was the Kinks in the Stadium in Dublin, a rough venue but Ray Davies and the boys were magical. Smoking was banned but the smell of ganja only added to the atmosphere! I an still hear their "encore" tunes - "you really got me", and, especially, "Days". I was lucky enough to go to real concerts before the arrival of the poxy "boy bands"!

Clannad is one of my NUMBER ONE FAVORITES, they are SOOOOOO GOOD! I LOVE them all so much, I would do ANYTHING just to MEET them all...My favorite CD is called " In a LIfetime" I've listened to it for 6 years straight....When my husband and I were very "Poor" for a while, we came into a little extra money, he asked me what I wanted, and I said CLANNAD CD "In a Lifetime"..so he bought me ONE CD, all we could afford, I kept that one CD I owned for 6 or 7 years, and I still have it, and it's 2019 !!!! I will frame it as it is getting old and worn out... but.I recently got a NEW Clannad CD, I listen to all the time...thank you Clannad for all the beautiful music you brought into this world....LOVE to you all, Loretta Wilson....The newest Clannad CD is called ""Clannad ANAM""...and it has all my favorite songs on it...I LOVE it !!!!!

I'll beg to differ. I was spiritually in love with those early albums and missed the tight gtr and mandolin work as they started to experiment and explore, notably with keyboards. Some of that was a bit disposable but when they hit, they really HIT! The 2011 concert in the Dublin Church shows they lost none of their ability to play the original folk music. Pol just seems to have gotten better and better.
