This is really a great game. Beside Frances paying too much, I've seen 2 more small mistakes. When Anthony places his 2nd miner (at 16:30) he pays only 10 and does not pay the 1 extra for the mountain space. And when Frances buys whisky (at 52:58) the market price should go up, but Frances moves the marker one space down. Still a great playthrough.

Around 1:08:00, Francès decides to sell the 3 grains. If the goal was to sell, upgrading them to 2 breads during the production would have made much more money.

Ugh. I hate not knowing if I have the money to back this. 4 days to go and I keep flip flopping. I love the look and everything. it is do I have the cash. and the deluxe is so reasonable. loved the play through. even if it is not helping me with my decision.

The naval reach point calculation at end game will get frustrating for the people that I play with. Maybe they can work on streamlining that for the kickstarter.

It may look complex at first but it really isn't once you play. It incentivices spreading out and increases the competition on the map and result in the neighborhood bonus being used more often which in turn makes the market more dynamic.

Keep in mind that there are supposed to be starting tiles that are used and paired with a Clan when players are selecting their starting Clans. This will give players some starting resources in Round 1, and make the start of the game much more interesting in my opinion! It appears these starting tiles were not used in this playthrough.

If they forgot ot use the starting resources it would explain why they didn't build as much on the map because they started the game with about 25% less ressources.

The rulebook said "Place the players’ Glory tokens and the Import tokens (Cotton, Tobacco and Sugar cane) next to number ‘1’ on the track." But I saw you put those tokens 'on' the 1 point block.

Bing Hai you're probably correct here. However, the major impact on the import tokens is final position of each as it determines the multiplier at end game. The single coin bonuses don't really add a ton of benefit.

On the 2nd scoring tile, they get glory on items produced not production tokens on board right? So Frances should have 6 glory and Anthony 3.

Only thing I didn't really get, what's the use of the extra markers on the score track? like Tobacco? You move them up from contract but to what point?

Besides getting 1 gold each time you move the token past the "checkpoint", the export goods give you end game scoring points based on rarity. 5VP each for least common, 3VP for most common, and 4VP each for the one in between. This is why you keep your Export Contract tile so you can count up your goods at the end of the game.

Frances: Unless I misunderstand Clan Robertson's powers, you kept overpaying for spots on rivers, didn't you?

Yeah, I noticed they didn't apply the discount on her first wheat field. Robertson will definitely benefit from a few levels of ship tech as they should try and expand to just the river mouths (both sides of them), and those discounts will add up to a key purchase over time. Also, today I learned that a delta is where the depositing of sediment by multiple mouths results the formation of one wide (but shallow) opening from a river to a larger body of water. Thanks Clans of Caledonia!

Looks like I misunderstood the clan power -- it definitely is only for deltas, not just river-adjacent hexes, so I think they got it correct.
