¡Bravo!

Great arrangements of the amazing Maestro Jorge Calandrelli and a beautiful interpretation of the matchless musician Clare Fischer!!! in a classic Bolero!

Symphonic Boleros was a CD I had and lost! It was the most gorgeously sumptuous recording I'd owned! It's almost impossible to track down.

iam getting an education on performances from this master i was not aware of before. clare has been so overlooked by the jazz public, although ive loved his work since his first time out and extensions albums when i was in my late teens in the sixties ive missed alot since then. thanks again david. im going to go through all your videos and have subscribed to your site.thank you!!!

The entire arrangement, including the piano part was written by Jorge Calandrelli and read and performed masterfully by Clare Fischer. The jazz piano solo from 2:29 to 3:16 was improvised by Clare Fischer. The orchestra (arranged by Jorge Calandrelli) was later recorded in London and conducted by Ettore Stratta, the producer of the album together with Jorge Calandrelli. The album is Ettore Stratta's "Symphonic Boleros" so this title on the video is wrong "Clare Fischer - Delirio"....

The title of the composition "Delirio" is correct. And the composer "César Portillo" is somewhat correct. Should read "César Portillo De La Luz" I might add that the instrumental version here is exceptional. But my preference is the vocal version, the lyrics are epic... .

Ha. Well I have seen poncho Sanchez. Great players all of them

Amen to that. Of course Sanchez did not play on this date, but there r only so many images of Clare performing out there. This was neither the first nor last time PS has stood in for another percussionist on one of my CF uploads-although, I'm reasonably certain, his one and only Fidel.

So beautiful song!! David, do you have the full album "Symphonic Boleros"?
@dvdspd219 жыл бұрын
Andrés Cabrera Navarro Sorry, Andrés; I do not. I just have this and the other track Clare played on ("What a Difference a Day Makes"), both taped off a library CD many years ago. I do intend 2 upload the other track eventually, but, as I don't do 'album cover' uploads, it might be a while B4 I get 2 it. If you'd like 2 message me your email, I'll b glad 2 let u know when I do.

Just in case you're not being facetious, the bearded conga player would be Poncho Sanchez, who worked alongside Clare with Cal Tjader in the mid-70s, and later in Clare's own group, Salsa Picante.
