The sad reality is... Republicans won't care one iota about these things as long as the SCOTUS is doing their bidding. Same goes for their elected officials. Look at the jokers they are electing or attempting to get into office! Not to mention that they themselves have stated time and time again that they don't care who is on the ticket - as long as they are Republican. I don't like Hillary, but she was right about Republicans... far too many of them are indeed deplorable. And they have demonstrated that time and time again over the past six years.

If #ClarenceThomas "consulted colleagues" before deciding to accept trips and not declare them, those colleagues would have been other SCOTUS judges, wouldn't they? Is anyone asking "Which ones"? It seems to me that every one of the current SCOTUS is now on the spot to declare either: 1) They were or were not consulted by Justice Thomas; and 2) Whether they have accepted any trips that have not been declared.

This is just one of the many reasons why billionaires shouldn't exist, and the wealthiest people in America should be taxed a 90% tax rate as they did through the 1940s and 60s.
@TheBeatle49
@TheBeatle49 Жыл бұрын
Actually no one has ever been taxed 90% of their income. That's a 90% marginal rate. It means that above a certain amount you were taxed 90% only on income above that amount. So say it's 90% marginal rate above 1, 000, 000. Then if you make 1,100, 000 you will pay 90% on 100,000. And lower rates on the other 1,000,000.

And also for the record, neither was Brett Kavanugh. My party, especially since the advent of the sociopath in the orange clown suit, has become the party of many things, including hatred, repugnance, racism, homophobia, fear-mongering, chest-pounding, blind false-patriotism, etc. But mostly, it has become a party of blatant hypocrisy. What about his crazy insurrectionist wife? After Anita Hill, his crazy wife, and this, he is so unaccountable, it’s sickening.

LOL. Actually, it's quite likely the law will be applied to him. That's why people are all over media trying to suggest it's impossible.

Thomas needs to be in a jail cell and have the guards toss him an orange jump suit and pair of maroon plastic shower shoes. And nobody on U Street would shed a tear.

The Times has done at least two pieces on the loss of healthcare coverage for many on Medicaid. But yeah, it's a bigger deal than you would perceive from the media's response.

Not surprising, as Clarence Thomas had already gotten in trouble even before he was a Supreme Court Justice.

So you're telling me that Clarence Thomas has a sugar daddy. Good for him. Hopefully it's that sugar daddy getting all the return gifts of 'Pubic Hairs on a Coke' these days instead of the female staff members.

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau was embroiled in a similar scandal by accepting a trip by Aga Khan. He had to reimburse the value of the trip out of pocket for conflict of interest as a result. If #ClarenceThomas had to reimburse the value of the last 20 years of trips, at $500K per trip, that's $10 Million he owes his friend, Crow, that Crow could not turn around and reimburse him. It would probably break Thomas financially, on a Judicial salary of just around $250,000, criminal liability aside. A better punishment than whatever the fine would be.
