There is an annual exclusion amount ($17,000 for 2023). Above that amount, the gift-giver must report the gift to the IRS. This would get Thomas' buyers (donors) in trouble as well as Thomas if gifts weren't reported. SC justices should be required to publicly disclose sources of income they report on tax returns.

I doubt any of the mentioned judges will step down or be impeached. Not enough votes in Congress and Senate. Thomas, Alito and Roberts may very well step down, retire but only if Trump wins in November and opens their seats for Trump to fill. They won't step down before the election.
