Since when is the volume of a tank expressed in m^3/kg?! Multiply the specific volume of the mixture by the total mass to yield the actual volume of the tank, or better yet, just use the individual masses of the liquid water and steam and multiply them by their respective specific volumes and sum them together. No need to use mass fractions here...

How to know the other identities if Pressure and Specific internal energy is only given?
@ClariFLIXConcepts
@ClariFLIXConcepts 4 жыл бұрын
start with pressure based steam table. 1. look at the given pressure 2. in that line see the values of Specific internal energy. here you need to observe given value. from here you may see four cases. a) value of specific internal energy is equal to the value at saturated liquid state(e_f). here you can easily know all other quantities. b) value of specific internal energy is equal to the value at saturated vapor state(e_g). here also you can easily know all other quantities. c) if you see the value in between these two values that means it is in saturated mixture zone. using interpolation method you need to find dryness fraction first and later you can find all the quantities at this dryness fraction using interpolation. d) you may see the value specific internal energy greater than specific internal energy at vapor state. here you need to look at super heated steam table.

Thanks, But how about if Only Temperature and Enthalpy is only given then it is a superheated because the given enthalpy is greater than the sat. Enthalpy?
@ClariFLIXConcepts
@ClariFLIXConcepts 4 жыл бұрын
your temperature is fixed and you have value of enthalpy. look for your value of enthalpy in superheated steam table at various pressure at fixed temperature. select the closest value of enthalpy. if you dont find value closer than that then interpolate.

why was 30% used?
@ClariFLIXConcepts
@ClariFLIXConcepts 4 жыл бұрын
as per the data given in example, total mass is 10 kg and mass of vapor is 3 kg. dryness fraction or quality is ratio of mass of vapor to total mass. So , dryness fraction is 0.3 or quality is 30%.
