Clarinet Pad Review which is right for you?

After watching the video I decided to replace two old leather pads with the roo pads. They went on quite well and I like them a lot. I replaced the low e/b and the f#/c# pads using the amber pellets, have a couple of comments on the install and adjustment. On the e/b pad I used a little too much glue and got some seepage that I had to scrape off. Since the stepped pads fit all the way to the edge of the pad cups, the excess glue rubbed against the chimney. On the f#/c# pad I used the correct amount of glue and thought everything was perfect. About a week later the C# sounded stuffy and I refloated the pad so that when opened it would vent more. These are very nice pads and easy to work with.

What thickness of cork pad do you recommend for a R-13?

3mm thickness is a good standard place to start. Certain vintages of R-13 might require a thinner pad but adjusting the cork pads to make them thinner is quite easy. You can find those pads on our site here: www.musicmedic.com/cork-pads.html
