I was at Clark from April 1966 - Oct 1967. Watching your video now. I enjoyed your video, and I enjoyed Clark. I was in the 1961st Comm group, major relay station. My tour would have been better if we didn’t have to work so hard. The teletype relay station at Clark was the largest, and busiest in the world. No time for chatting or having fun at work. Non-stop action from the time you reported for duty until you got off work. Off duty time was a different story. I had a girlfriend that was a cashier at THE PINK ELEPHANT. She was 16, but I was only 18. When I met her she was a virgin….when I left her she was still a virgin. Oh Lily where are you now? Maybe in heaven…I hope not.

Was with the 407th Field Maintenance Sq. from Jan 67 to July 68. Worked the transients coming in and out of Clark. 141's 130's 133's 124's and KB-50's Also helped with the WB-47's when needed. Best duty station in my 4 years in the Air Force. Payed 50 bucks for a 49 Lincoln convertible that looked like a patch work quilt. It had been sanded down to show several layers of paint. Was told I couldn't park it in the squadron area by the First Shirt so I bought 12 cans of blue paint at the BX and painted it myself. What a hoot. It was a fair weather car because it didn't have a top. Got some canvas from the parachute shop and made a top for it. What great memories of a different time in my life.

I was at Clark from 69 to 71 (two tours) - started with the WB-47's until the were sent back to the states to go in moth-balls. Next to 604 MASS working on mostly the C-141's. I just wanted to say "thank you" very much for sharing this film, it brought back many wonderful memories.

Flew into Clark December of 1968 to 5th TAC. Two TDYs to 5th TAC sites in Korea, then they started disbanding the unit so I rotated back after a little over 12 months. Started out in the no AC open bay barracks, then moved to a newer AC barracks in my final month, as the unit was disbanding. Remembering the lizards in the barracks, latrine in the middle and the house boys. Plus lots more. Love your film, lots of memories, amazing how far Angles has progressed since then from the present KZbin videos.

I got orders to Clark in 1971 to the 6200 Air Base Wing but was transferred to 5th Tac, the big ugly warehouse next the same big ugly warehouse that the 1st Mob Comm Squadron was in, and was THEN sent to Detachment 2, 5th Tac, in Taegu, Korea, right after I got married in Angeles City. Det 1, went to Taiwan, considered a much better assignment.
