Same got a green model, which is my favorite color. It only has a little over 137k in mileage.
@pathaze42994 жыл бұрын
I got the exact same car. It’s white too. It looked the same as this one when I first got it 4 years ago, minus the hubcaps. It’s rockin’ the black steelies. Now it looks really different. I did a lot of cosmetic modifications over the years, like new aftermarket headlights, tail lights, a spoiler, an aftermarket leather shift boot and custom TRD shift knob (cause mine’s a stick shift), a Sony sound system and some little speed stripes on the rockers of the front doors. Still running strong at 191,842 miles. It’s my first ever car I even bought. I got it when I was 16 by myself. Love this thing

Just to clarify, Clark Olson is the name of the media company (Guy Clark + Dave Olson). The actor in the video is Neil Arsenty. He is me. Thanks everyone!
@clarkolsonmedia14 жыл бұрын
@TheCaseybryan We shot it using a Canon 5dmkii, Edited with Final Cut Pro and the txt was done in After Effects. No effects other than tracking the text to the actor.

I have 185,000 miles on mine, and it's still running strong. No engine or transmission issues. Toyota built a great car.
@Martin-id1ri3 жыл бұрын
you still have it?
@kmook762 жыл бұрын
That's not that many miles, 200 k is basic af on a 90+ toyota. All you need is basic maintenance. Try to go for 400k if you want to impress.

I bought a 2000 corolla the day after this video came out and havent changed the oil in it once. One time I got a flat tire and my Corolla said "fuck that we're good". I have over 250k miles on it and over 2 kids delivered in the back seat and I cant fall asleep at night until I look at that beautiful gray chariot of the gods sitting on my driveway. 10/10 vehicle.
@kmook762 жыл бұрын
Nah fam on the oil, that car would be dead af in about 10k miles max, they burn it like crazy. Yes it's sarcasm from you but these cars are notorious for burning oil after 100k
@damonblankenship94503 жыл бұрын
I bought the college bound a 2000 with 67,000 original miles. 2K......thought about keeping it for myself, but the 4Runner is in the same class. ( sort of )
@lardman52537 жыл бұрын
this was actually funny and helpful. ESPECIALLY because mine is missing the A/C faceplate and so when I got it I had no idea what it was. but then the panoramic view of the interior and center console really helped out. thank you!!

I own a '99 Corolla, and it has been reliable no matter what! I live in an area where the winters are particularly rough, and it is a blessing for me. I received the car from my grandfather and it had just about 33,000 miles. I haven't had a problem yet and neither has my parents. I guess we own a good one! ;)

@markreiley Hey Mark, I'm the shooter editor. I used a home made slyder for the dolly shots and After Effects for the motion tracking text. Thanks, glad you liked it.
@MarkWReiley13 жыл бұрын
Love the very smooth camera work moving and panning over the car. Was it dolly on a budget? Also, would be interested to know how the subtitles were tracked to the movement of the actor's head!

So you like also like cars like me. Toyota is one of my favorites too. Specially the first 3 production lines, where this one is from. Their paint is indestructible, that is so cool and the really hold it together for very long, if fixed and driven properly. That's what a good car is for me, cheap and safe and cool bonuses(like the paint and ECO/UNECO systems on Toyota) or the luxury and acceleration of a BMW... Cool video and specially the credits joke!!! LOL

I drove a 1999 Corolla VE (Canada), and it was really great. I went to a 2006 Corolla CE and discovered that Toyota had raised the belt-line on the new design, so now I had to raise the seat up higher to get the same view out over the hood. I enjoyed the old car a lot but the new 2006 design is a little bit more 'plush', more of a luxury feel to it. Tried a test drive of the new 2009 Design and it was AWFUL, really awful compared to the previous design. So when my 2006 started to have problems after it passed 200,000 miles, I bought a used 2008 model instead, one that had only 40,000 miles on it, almost brand new. If i was to get a new car now I would buy the new 2017 Hyundai Elantra. I was thinking of the Mazda3 because I would never buy a CVT automatic, but I don't like the radio controller that the Mazda3 has down near the gear shifter, I could never get used to that, I want a conventional volume knob up near the radio itself. And while a VW Golf might seem okay, I don't trust turbos, I would always wonder when that turbo in the 1.8 engine was going to start having leaking oil seals.

@mrflamewars7 жыл бұрын
The 2000 got Variable Valve Timing and Coil on plug ignition, so go make fun of a 98 or 99. If you go skulking around a junkyard you can add a tachometer instrument cluster and variable intermittent wipers for like $30 all in.

yeah the 1998-2002 corollas are known for being the worst corollas when it came down to reliability, they are known for using more oil than gas! I know 4 people that have owned one from those years range and they all burn a lot of oil. all the previous models are known to be cheap, affordable, economic, and best of all reliable. the ones from 2003-2008 are known for being economic, and reliable, the ones from 2009-2010 are know to be death traps for sticky gas pedal, 2011+"fixed that issue"

Haha, that was great! Love the sarcasm! The only thing better would be if it were grandmother beige, the ultimate color for a Corolla (or Camry), lol! BTW, I inherited my mother's 2003 Corolla a few years ago when she could no longer drive. Unfortunately, it's mineral green. I put sexy 16" 5 spoke Matrix wheels on it though, and I've driven it from Montréal to San Diego (before Covid).
