Brings back memories from my youth in NZ. No safety back then, steel cap boots & a hard hat that was all. Whether you were on a saw, skidder, dozer, or a loader, all the same. Clarks were dangerous fun, and safety was, 'Grab that bar and lock yourself in', if it went arse up.... Love the sound of a 2 stroke screaming around the mountains under full load. I started on a 664, mid 1970s, Windfall in -30ish temps, base of the great southern alps, in 4-6 ft snow. Also trained on D6 Dozer, and Michigan 75B log loader. Then Australia for a year to defrost/warm up again. Back to NZ and onto 666 on the mountains a yr later. Nelson Area, as well as 668 on sand flats for the same boss. It was a unique game back in the day, now replaced by machines, that do everything, except the dishes. 🤨🤣

Rolling up your sleeves indeed. Skidded needs a PowerModz sticker for that extra 5hp. Can’t leave it behind, Louie! Loving this new channel and always a fan of PowerModz here in WASHINGTON state (the best Washington of the US;)

I did the same thing in northern Ontario back then. Not much safety concern! Minus 35%! My Timberjack did not have an enclosed cabin and no door.

@@rollingupmysleeves I know all about this Mr. powermodz. I opened up a firewood business near thunderbay using a treefarmer, jonesred 74cc 20inch bar and a stihl 40cc 16inch bar. although we sold poplar and birch not much of the oak here.

I wish motors could be quieter, even todays tractors are to loud for my taste. I cut all trash firewood down to 4" , only leave the good wood like future saw logs. good video........

Honestly I agree now, that skidder blew my eardrums out. I easily knew where it was when my guy was in the bush though. The little tracked skidders i have now with the gas engine are getting mufflers - nice and quiet. Thanks for watching.

I'm with you, I love learning and it was interesting watching this professional work that chainsaw and the skidder. Must have been a two-stroke motor as it was revving high. Thanks, great video!

Just curious on what tree species beavers munch on down in southern Ontario? I've only ever seen Birch and Poplar and whatever shrubs are in my area!

They will eat anything along a pond basically. They really like poplar - but everything is on the menu

Old 2 stroke detroit just screaming:) ... out of curiosity what did you get for land. I been looking into land in un organized townships. Price, on water, size, How far away from road has been what I have been looking at some are fairly cheep others still want 1 million for a postage stamp. I'm thinking a Alaskan mill a skidder will get me well on my way to having a little fun in developing and building my own land

You're going to have to go north for cheaper land - coeeeevide messed things up here with land prices - all the city people moving out of the city driving things up.
