While college is not for everyone ,some sort of education aside from skill training is essential in the ever developing society.Not everyone needs a BA degree now days and specially not MA degrees either (their overrated) but I think just AA degrees could go along way in starting off with good foundation any field of job and get your foot in the door of many good companies,government jobs and entrepreneurship/small business ownership. Some basic college education can open door socially,develop long life networking connection and give any person a well rounded worldview experiences .The life lessons you learn in Universities and Colleges are probably the best ones in people lives.That is why many successful worldwide companies have a Campus environment (ie; Google,Apple).

Thank you, thank you, Clark! I feel like I'm in a dead end job but it's tuff to pivot to something else when I don't have a degree. This is an awesome tool you suggested and I don't have to pay someone to help me figure this out.😊

The Fed data and Social Security data on 4 year degrees show a 4:1 greater net worth and that long term gap over some/no college is accelerating.

Fundamentals are necessary perhaps an associate and the remainder is on the job training. Degrees will move you up
@erictcarrollcarroll11089 ай бұрын
In my experience an Associate degree carries virtually no respect and offers little opportunity in the marketplace. A college education must be a Bachelor's degree at a minimum, and many companies continue to hire and promote based on who you know and how they feel about you or them, not what you know or have done on the job.

I don’t have a college degree. I think that having one is very useful if debt is not involved. So yes overall. Debt is a ball and chain though.
@dpporlando9 ай бұрын
Of course a degree is not necessary but it demonstrates a commitment to a long term goal and an ability to utilize resources and learn to adapt even if the material is of little to no interest. There needs to be upfront REAL guidance to shape a degree path to actualize gainful employment. I'd like to see mainstream colleges and universities offer hybrid degrees with trade skills. A semi conductor fab tech degree would be killer today.

I think its more about being able to follow rules and ability for companies to control them. It needs a total rehaul. There should be fast track degrees eliminating pre recs that are irrelevant to occupation one wants. First 2 years arebasically grade 13 and 14 and complety worthless. Being well rounded is irrelavant to a specific job. Do I care about an accountants ability to write a 10 thousand word essay or to do my taxes?

@@BrianK-zz4fk many High School seniors graduate already having their 2 year associate degree or just being a few credits short. Given our current state of chaos I for one believe it's more important than even citizens know how to write and comprehend especially when it comes to history.

@@dpporlando I knew how to write by 3rd grade to where english class in high school was litrature cclass and completly worthless to me. I can agree on history though thoughout HS if you dont learn from it your bound to repeat it but doubt its being taught in a neutral environment now a days. Alot of school is just memorizing stuff to the teachers satisfaction and completley worthless. Alot of the smartest in school were the dumbest people I ever met. I have a BS and always called it a piece of paper back in 2001.

The theme song "She Drives Me Crazy" was the theme song for the DJ who was called "The Real Bob James". He used to live in my area and was a radio DJ in my area back in the late 1980s. I he moved and I think he became a DJ in the Georgia area which is where I think you are. If so, did you copy his theme song? (big smile from me).

So many talks on KZbin if college degree is necessary, of course, it is. Period. Even if a person has no degree but no matter what has to strive to get it in whatever area there is an interest. Education is important for every single person and please strive for it even if media tells you or some influencers it is not, do not listen, invest in yourself to be a better version of yourself, acquire knowledge, expand your horizons. Do not listen those who tells you it’s nothing and doesn’t deserve your money.
