Clarkson (probably): We need a cooking segment. Cookery shows are bloody popular. *proceeds to mace the cook, the Pole, himself, and the entire camera crew.*

I did this once. I had some Naga chilly pickle. I was out of oil so, I used the pickle oil to cook some chicken instead. I could hear the whole building coughing. 😅

Interesting when Jeremy meets Thomas, he repeats his name back and then questions “Polish?” Then later when they are all laughing, he jokingly quips to the woman “How many Poles do you go through in a year?” I haven’t followed him long enough to guess why he calls attention to his origin of Poland. Anyone?

I think the joke is that Poles traditionally don't use spices in their quisine.

There's a stereotype in the UK that Polish people come over to do menial jobs

Probably genuine curiosity. I don't think he means bad by it.

It's a long running stereotype/joke about Polish workers coming over to work manual labour jobs in the UK (because the money in Poland is terrible) and sending all of the money back home. They'd stay for a couple of months/year and then leave the UK to return home. That's why he jokes about getting through several Poles in a year. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with what the first commenter said about not using spices, that person is a fool who hasn't a clue.
