I think that having Damien Priest retain was the right call for one reason: Gunther. Gunther's IC title run has elevated the belt to great heights and himself to high tier. If anybody is worthy of the WHC, it's him. Besides, what would be the point of Drew winning the belt only to lose it 2 months later? The only thing wrong was where and when it happened.

Mad ups for damien for continuing the match! Broken, sprained or whatever it still look uncomfortable and to still go is a respectable thing. Also glad he didnt hide the injury for 2 months and then tell everyone on ig like another wrestler

I think the very first "i quite" was between Magnum T. A. and Tully Blanchard and they used furniture to end the match

I will say, it was very bold of WWE to debut a brand new wrestler in the middle of Bayleys match. I look forward to AEW fans foaming that Tony didn't get this obscure star first.

I think 6 or 7 matches is the sweet spot especially with a potential non title feud in between. Cause it was mostly championship matches at this show which is fine but I feel like WWE’s non title feuds are pretty lacking.

Atleast having a Show in Scotland is more Normal than in Saudi..WWEs show in japan might also be Awesome..maybe even some cosplaying? since i ave seen some wreslers having nods to some Anime series

I will say about Chelsea and Piper, from what I've seen of them, they kinda remind me of like Laurel and Hardy, like a modern day version of them. You have the skinny one who is like the comedy side of the two, and the more heavy set one is the straight man, or in this case, straight woman. I could even imagine Piper saying to Chelsea, "This is another fine mess you gotten us into." 😉😂🤣 Anyways, enjoyed having this in the background while I worked my way through tonight's previously caught up with Dev games. Thank you so very much for this.

This is so entertaining especially the Piper Niven bit. I’ve never seen Doudrop I started watching when she’s just Piper Niven. Just the name doudrop is so weird it sounds like a halloween candy. Certain things like this and Karrion Kross main roster debut with that weird fucking mask is why I’m glad I started watching right as Vince was being pushed out.

About the opener and Mama Rhodes involvement for me it didn’t take away anything from the “toughness” angle and it probably has more to do with the time (this was after 11th and before Father’s Day) than just taking His mom to see Scotland🤷‍♀️ also because of the Rock, Mama Rhodes is a bit over with people😅she got Mama Rhodes chant and cheers when She slapped AJ (that’s probably why she was laughing if anything, wasn’t expecting to get that pop in my opinion) also it wasn’t Cody going to His mom to say “no” on any occasion- He said no every time like He coded that answer into His brain, that automatic response it was AJ that pushed the narrative of “Cody won’t say no cuz mama Rhodes is here and it’s all Her doing”. Also the first thing Cody started to do after AJ handcuffed Him was trying to get those Handcuffs to the front but struggled with it so AJ got into confrontation with His mom to buy Him time more than for Cody to get a reason to get mad. Going to the ending of the match it did make sense🤔AJ after being handcuffed to the ropes got a chair bend on Him and while getting to the corner(no possible escape at the end) got a front row view on His opponent taking the steal steps (that aren’t that light either) thrown into the ring, over the top rope like a basketball by the guy who just seconds after that got in Himself and picked those very steps up again with like a hypnotized death stare into His direction, I mean look at AJs face there that disbelief and fear in His eyes also Cody after AJ said I quit and the ref called it, He looked out of place, confused what’s going on and what happened then looked at His mom and that grounded Him, bringing Him back to reality at some level. The fact that He went on and still hit AJ with the stairs was a heelish move but the crowd popped (that brought me back to Cody’s promo while back when He spoke about how His mom would encourage Him to “hit that boy again just for a good measure” and the more recent one about how His mom his the undercover cop with a chair at a concert😅) so yeah to summarize it Cody went full on Homelander mode and Mama Rhodes didn’t take away from it at all if You take a closer look into the story They’ve been telling inside that ring🤷‍♀️ but I don’t know, its just an interpretation from an outside perspective😁✌️ Also just a quick thought was it just me or was this ring like more “bouncy” and the ropes like a bit looser then they normally have? The fact that most of not all spots that included the ropes, during the whole event, were Botchamania worthy material is a tell that this ring was just different🤷‍♀️ 🤔also the fact that from the beginning You could see the ropes shake like crazy for like noticeable time periods, from a mid-ring bumps and harder stumps, was wired kinda😂 hope Priest is fine tho, His ropes spot looked brutal as hell I felt it in my ankle through the screen😅 Always great to listen to You guys, have a good one😉✌️

I quit matches have always been a trash brawl, one of the first ones was won by smashing a wooden step ladder into someones knee over and over until they quit. Submission matches are far more interesting, i do agree. It's like no holds barred, the point isn't to get a weapon, it's to pull out banned moves such as the punt kick, pile-driver or brain buster, hell even punching with a closed fist or to face but because these moves aren't really banned anymore the match type kind of lost it's meaning and just became another hardcore match.
