It's all part of that high indie/PWG mindset. Pro Guerilla Wrestling (PWG) was always sold as the elite little indy promotion. It was held a few times a year in this tiny building that would sell out quickly. So it gained this aura around the IWC. Those fans are the mark of marks. They treat it as this private club. Hence, when you criticize them or offer anything less than absolute praise, you are attacked. That Meltzer video going around of him acting like a toddler around Omega and the Bucks? That was filmed at a PWG show. Meltzer fell for and I think TK did to some degree as well for this type of wrestling. Meltzer convinced TK that it could be brought nationally. It can't it works only as a one-off, for a small group of people. That is a big reason why AEW is not connecting with a large audience.

I always had a real dislike for Ricochet, Sami Callahan, and Chuck Taylor. I used to go to the Evolve and DGUSA shows whenever they ran NYC/NJ. These guys were so full of themselves and treated fans as nothing but money marks. There was a level of delusion I had never seen before in all my years of attending shows. Callahan was the worst honestly. After his match with Finley he was just an arrogant ahole

He’s a talented high flyer but Trevor is bland as a human being. He’s where he belongs, catapulting himself through the air to dwindling crowds till he gets a career ender and runs out his contract on the injured list. Aew was a place we hoped would be the future of wrestling, it’s turned into TNA during the Dixie years

I am still waiting for this "massive" television deal that they have been talking about forever. WWE just signed a deal for NXT for 5 years for reportedly between 100-125 million for a 5-year deal. Considering the small difference in television ratings and fan interest between the two that exist now, it amazes me that AEW seems to think that they are getting a massive new TV renewal deal for the kind of money that is being paid for Raw or Smackdown when the ratings, fan attendance, and other factors are nowhere near WWE's main roster level.

The fact that he did this one week in the door, is telling. He always was this guy, WWE just pump’s the brakes on things like this. Why? Because it’s demoralizing you’re not just attacking one of your ACTUAL fans. But for the world to see!! He didn’t just respond with a simple condescending or sarcastic joke, while speaking to someone who just told you, they are a fan. You just lost that fan. And had whoever else reads this and thought he was douche Bag, and that this was totally uncalled for. Only the diehard AEW fans ,and people who work for AEW are going to consider this a win. This is very telling. The only people to applaud this are people in AEW (or the boss) and fans that are already die hards. The people that are gonna watch every week, no matter what! This just made the fan who will casually watch, and tune in when they are interested in something specific. Change the channel when they see you! Ricochet didn’t gain any fan’s for this, he already had them, he lost fans. Guaranteed there are people out there that didn’t care for AEW one way or another. That you just pushed away. Just think about how wrestlers used to be from the 60s though the 90’s. They protected the business to the point where people they wouldn’t tell people they were training that it was a work until they trust them. If absolutely anything happens in the public eye they stating character and kept the work going. As soon as these new guys open their mouth, the façade is gone. They are no longer believable in anyway, whereas back in the day if you’ve gotten into an altercation with somebody and you lost and looked weak in front of other people. There were consequences a promoter would tell you “How am I gonna get these people to believe, you can beat the champ, if you just got beat up local mechanic. I can’t draw anymoney with that!” Killing the town, for that character. It’s no wonder that when the dust settled, after the honey moon faze, AEW’s true number of fans came to light. All that’s left is 2k-4k fans that are willing to go to your show. 90% of them look like the same person. The 20/30 year old, neckbeard. this is all you see when you watch AEW with their crowed shot’s. Not a family, or hot girl in sight. The family of 4 is who they should be trying again they are the people that are gonna spend the money.
