4-12 Andy Reid - his son died that season. Eagles ownership was wrong to do that
@bjt813668 ай бұрын
No they weren't. Andy's kids were complete trainwrecks for years before that. From ODs to drug selling, to prison time. He couldn't control them at the time and obviously he still can't. They were rolling up to the brothas in West and North Philly in $70k Vets rocking think chains, blastin 50. They were actual drug dealers. Straight felons. The Eagles spent a lot of money trying to protect Andy from the press. What were they supposed to do? His son was a dope dealing junkie and OD'd. Now his remaining son destroys a family in KC by plowing into them drunk. He got drunk at work in the stadium (his high paying non-job) drove from the stadium and permanently disabled a child.

The moves Kelly made were downright hubristic, but to call that Eagles team a super team is wild. That core was together for 4-5 years and didn't even win a playoff game. Defense was a weakness during those years, and although the offense was explosive, they were very "big play or bust." Also, in a weird way it all worked out for the Eagles in the end. There's no guarantee that Reid would've drafted Mahomes if he was still with them and replicated what he's done in KC. Reid and the Eagles organization needed to go their separate ways when they did at the end of the day. It was what was best for both sides. Chip Kelly did some bogus stuff but it still paved the way for Doug Pederson's hiring, which led to the first SB title in franchise history. Also, as disgraceful as it was to outright release Jackson and trade McCoy, there were still some moves during Kelly's tenure that benefits the franchise to this day. Lane Johnson was the first draft pick made during the Kelly era and Jeff Stoutland was also hired during the Kelly era. Both are still with the team to this day and are still elite at what they do. They were integral in the franchise's first SB win, were so again with the team that almost won the SB two seasons ago, and still are with the current 12-2 Eagles team.

But the big problem was that the Eagles organization (and those wonderful Philly fans) didn't give Andy Reed sufficient opportunity to work through his personal issues. You could make another video outlining what the Reed family endured during his time in Philly. Reed's coaching record since leaving Philly speaks for itself. Andy deserved better treatment from the Eagles and their fans.

Lmfaooo a lot of the players on the 2017 roster were acquired from 2012 to 2017 Vick got benched for foles who went 27-2 Vick couldn’t stay healthy and never even won a playoff game in Philly 😂 only went to 1 as starter , oh also desean Jackson and Vick were out getting litt with meek during the seasons etc etc veterans who prob didn’t put in that extra mile during the week if not for chip there is no pederson without pederson there is no Super Bowl without chip there’s maybe no 27-2 mvp foles as well as more average a year in 2014 but got hurt with a 2 loss record 🙄 Andy had a lot of personal issues going on and the team wasn’t what it needed to be for him

So I'm not sure what your point is. He sent away the team's best offensive weapons. I can only guess you agreed with this move. LoL ok.

Chip destroyed our team 🤬🤬🤬 I wish we would’ve kept Andy Reid 😢

We needed to part with Andy, but Chip certainly wasn't the answer.

@@bjt81366 If you really think about, Chip Kelly was kind of the answer. He made Eagles change how they do things. They no longer have HC be GM as well anymore, and Eagles have been consistently good since his firing. He made Howie better at his job. He got players Howie used to trade up for Wentz. Chip may have gotten rid of players who wouldn't have helped Eagles win a Super Bowl. Doug Pederson used his playbook to win Super Bowl with Foles. Going for it on 4th down became a thing because of how successful it was for Eagles in 2017. @UncleTroyLee Why did you want to keep this choke artist? Not even an NFCCG with those players Reid had. Keeping Andy Reid would have been a big detriment to Eagles. Reid was starting to be bad after 2008, which should have been the season to win Super Bowl, but he choked against the friggin' Cardinals in NFCCG because of his stupid play calling. They were never going to win a Super Bowl with him after that loss. Reid has 3 Super Bowls because of Mahomes. Mahomes bails him out. Reid choked with McNabb and Alex Smith. Keeping Andy Reid would probably mean they don't change the way they did things for the better. HCs would still probably be GMs too. Would Howie be the GM he is today if he didn't have to deal with Chip Kelly? Andy Reid wouldn't win Super Bowl with 2017 Eagles. He would have found a way to screw that up too like NFCCGs against Buccaneers, Panthers, and Cardinals. A big thing that helped Eagles get to and win Super Bowl was going for it on 4th down, something Andy Reid wouldn't have done.

Chip Kelly did one good thing. He brought in Jeff Stoutland! Other than that, he was the worst head coach since the “Swamp fox” Marion Campbell!

They weren't a super team. They were incredibly flawed, and DeSean was one of the least reliable receivers in the league.
@randywright3430Ай бұрын
Chip Kelly destroyed the eagles like you said, getting rid of Jack Jackson was Sean McCoy Nichols, english Jeremy mcclynn. He just destroyed the team. We probably would've won a Super Bowl in 2015 or 2016. Earlier than twenty seventeen when Doug Peterson came along

The bottom line is that Chip Kelly was an arrogant, egotistical, power-hungry insecure man that thought he could deal with grown men the same way he dealt with college kids. He really tried to turn the Philadelphia Eagles into the Philadelphia Ducks by bringing in Oregon players he had coached before. It was bad enough that he cut D-Jax because he didn't want to kiss his ass, but to try to smear his reputation was absolutely despicable. Trading Shady for that always-injured bum Kiko Alonso and letting J-Mac walk in free agency is further proof of what an ego-driven narcissistic idiot he was.
