I messed up and din't show the run time. Not sure why I didn't, but I just ran with 2 batteries both 4AH and fully charged. One being an older battery that gets used a lot lasted 10 minutes and 30 seconds. The brand new one lasted 11 minutes and 15 seconds. I have not seen in any description for these what the runtime is, but this is what I got in a climate controlled garage at 70 degrees. I would expect different results in much colder or hotter temps.

Just ordered that new Ryobi brushless blower today. I've been trying to find the kit (the one that comes with the tool, battery, and charger) for weeks now and it was never in stock or available to order anywhere near me. Finally saw it become available to order this afternoon and jumped on it right away. It should be here in a couple of days and I'm looking forward to getting it. It will be used exclusively for when I wash my cars. I already have an Ego Power+ 650 CFM blower (with a stubby nozzle attachment) that I've been using for a couple of years now but I wanted something more compact and lighter for when I'm working on smaller vehicles where they don't need the longer runtime of the Ego unit.
@CarsWithKeav9 ай бұрын
It’s really good for the right spaces water likes to collect. I think you’ll end up using both for the most efficient process. I’m doing that right now big blower for the large area and this one for wheels and other areas. Of course it will do a whole car as well no problem.
@coolwrld30210 ай бұрын
One thing I'd like to throw out there regarding this blower. Seeings how this is part of the Ryobi One+ ecosystem I figured any Ryobi One+ battery should work. Well I was wrong when I bought my blower I also bought the 8AH One+ battery assuming I would get longer run time. While I'm pretty sure I would benefit from longer run time apparently the 8AH battery also provides added "power" so when you try and use the blower it runs for about 5 seconds but then just shuts off with this battery. So I would say if you buy this blower and want longer run time just make sure you have multiple 4AH batteries.
@CarsWithKeav10 ай бұрын
That’s some good info. HP batteries do give more power. I have some 6AH and they worked fine, but normally I run 4AH just strictly for the weight and I keep an inventory if already charged ones and cycle them out. I usually have the opposite on my Ryobi there are some like the DA polisher that will not run more than a few seconds on the 2.5 AH battery and have to use the 4AH.
@mcham08466 ай бұрын
The 6AH is good but I run the 2 4AH battery method. I think the 8AH is has too much amps for the Blower probably? Safety feature is my guess

The high performance Ryobi batteries will work better and 4ah would most likely do a little better. This is the most powerful handheld out there, but it’s still only as strong as the weakest bigger leaf blower. Mainly for around the shop and works well in the nooks and seams of cars when drying. Can dry a whole car as well. Just not good for most yard work. Cleaning off a patio will work pretty good.

Measuring dB with a phone is like measuring voltage with your tongue.
@CarsWithKeav7 ай бұрын
You are probably right and I’m looking into getting a real db meter. I tend to go by what bothers me more and what is loud to my ears which sometimes seems to be the one with higher decibels. Say high pitch vs a deeper sound.
@amedsoprano7 ай бұрын
@@CarsWithKeav sound is very tricky to measure because of the inverse square law and the fact that our perception of sound is logarithmic (every 3 dB the sound energy doubles). So the distance from the source is a crucial measurement too and the specific calibration of the microphone used, regularly dB meters are calibrated to be accurate at high loudness but suck at reading low level or quietness you need a specific dB meter for that, although some Fancy ones can work in orders of magnitude and will allow you to read both ends of the spectrum.
@CarsWithKeav7 ай бұрын
@@amedsoprano I just picked up a calibrated one to use in future videos. I figure I should be okay as I'm usually in the 50db to 100db area I hear less than 30db is when you need a specific meter for that. Thanks for all the info it is very appreciated I love learning and then applying that to the next video. I for sure will do some kind of distance test with all of them and I would think the environment as impact such as a very high echo garage versus outside. Measuring a pressure washer at 2 feet to me is not the right distance I think 5 to 10 feet would be the normal working distance.
@amedsoprano7 ай бұрын
@@CarsWithKeav as long as you do all your measurements in the same environment you should be Gucci. Ideally you want a room with as little echo as possible but standardized tests are just that, a standard environment for all test subjects. You could do an indoor vs outdoor test too because of the frequencies and harmonics you could produce destructive interference resulting in a decrease in overall loudness In confined spaces instead of gains. at the end of the day for leafblowers I'd say an arms length is a perfectly fine measument just pick different environments.
