@@CarsWithKeav Hi Keav. I found that polyester braided 1/4 hose as well. I was thinking of using it for my Active 2.0 but do you think it's strong enough of a braiding to prevent the the surging from Active 2.0? I'm looking for a good quality steel braided 1/4" 50' hose to use for my Active 2.0. I'm shying away from 3/8" hoses not due to price but weight. I want a high quality 1/4" 50' hose that is light weight for easy movability and of course braided enough so that it doesn't surge the Active 2.0. Any suggestions? Thanks!

@@lanceguilin Polyester braid is not bad, but is very heavy for a 1/4 hose it weighs close to what the Kevlar 3/8 hose weighs. Plus it’s outer diameter is almost the same as the 3/8. It doesn’t surge my 2.0 currently, but I never used it much. The Adam’s is a great hose, but it’s almost always sold out. I have heard great things about this one amzn.to/3YxWZMo

@@CarsWithKeav 🤣 halirous. The one you mentioned at the end is the one I ordered yesterday and I got it today. It seemed like a no name / No brand with only Vine positive reviews. Not sure if it woud turn our to be crap. But I Tried it out this evening and it seems to work alright, similar to what came with the 2.0 but longer. It's still heavier than I thought it would be for a 1/4" but to be expected I guess for a steel braided hose. Not sure how durable or long lasting it will be but it doesn't look too bad upon first use. Seems like it could be a decent hose. Thanks for your comments. Keep up the good work. 👍🍻

3:57 on your uberflex hose, where did you find that M22 to 3/8 male adapter in stainless? I can’t find one in anything but regular steel. I looked on Mckillans site since you mentioned their kit (and searched various other QC brands as well), and pictures of all the M22 to 3/8 plug adapters I’ve seen all have a plastic outer ring on the adapter as well, which I’d think would cause fitment issues. But on your setup, I only see the plastic tightening ring on the hose itself. (PS: if this is posted multiple times, my apologies as I was getting an error)
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 7 ай бұрын
They never come by themselves it’s either an accessory to a spray gun/hose or part of a kit like this one amzn.to/3WKIwvH which has a brass female QD you can put on the pressure washer which connects to the stainless male plug that comes with it. You can choose how you use them. That’s why I have so many adapters everything comes in some kind of pairing or accessories to a cheap spray gun.

@@CarsWithKeav Thanks for the link! I don’t think I had seen that one! Issue I was facing was that most of the kits / F-M combos all have the same parts, which is technically the correct male plug but they all have the plastic outer ring to tighten it, not the simple hex end to put a wrench on it to tighten against the plastic M22 hose end. Appreciate the help!

Hey Keav, great channel. I am looking for a new pressure washer and looking for recommendations. My 2 yr old Ryobi 1800 psi 1.2 gpm machine failed recently. Is there anything that compares to the Active 2.0 in performance and price? I need a similar form factor to the Ryobi/Active as I do not have a garage and the unit has to be hauled out of a shed when I use it on the weekend. Just a once a week usage, if that as I use DIY rinseless most of the time. Will the old Uberflex hose work or should it be upgraded to one of the hoses you featured in this video? Thanks. You seem to have reviewed every pressure washer known to mankind so I thought you could answer these questions.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 5 ай бұрын
Nothing compares to an Active 2.0 in that price range. You have to spend $150 more to get anything even close. You can go with the CAT 1800 pressure washer which is made by Active and is their VE52 rebranded which isn’t made anymore for around $250 and is about maybe 7% less performance and is a great unit. CAT 1800 might be better for your situation as just about everything stores on it. Active 2.0 has no storage functionality. Do not buy the CAT 1850 it is more like the Ryobi in performance. amzn.to/3WIpJjZ

On a reel the Blushield is the way to go. I bought that 1/4 poly hose to do a video on it. Been working great. A bit heavy for a 1/4 hose he has the outer diameter is basically the same as a 3/8 gray hose just the inside diameter is 1/4 I’m h so it very durable and the weight makes it lay very flat. Is there any benefit to pressure increase using this Kevlar 50 foot hose versus a Uber flex 50 foot hose being the fact that it’s steel braided. I’m just curious if your pressure of your pressure washer will not dial off is easy using this Kevlar versus the Uber flex.
@ViolentSky
@ViolentSky 8 ай бұрын
Maybe do a test on that if possible when you have time I’d love to see the results of psi with the active 2.0 machine with the Kevlar 50 footer and the Uber flex 50 footer
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 8 ай бұрын
The Kevlar will work better with higher end pressure washers due to the Kevlar braiding keeping the inner diameter from expanding which can cause pressure issues with the stop start system. This is an issue I have faced with Uberflex with the Active 2.0 recently since it is not braided due to its flexibility there is nothing keeping the hose from expanding. It causes my 2.0 to surge and have ramp up and down problems. If it’s a lower flow machine such as a Ryobi or Greenworks then Uberflex is just fine. The pressure it’s self between the two really does not change. The 1/4 can flow more water than most pressure washers can do. The 3/8 hose can more than likely do the same pressure with less Amps due to more volume in the hose. This applies to any braided hose not just Kevlar as steel braided will do the same it’s just heavier.

@@CarsWithKeav thanks for the reply. Also, my other concern was is there any psi increase/decrease benefit/non-benefit to using the 3/8 size hose versus the quarter inch I have active 2.0 I just purchased and I’m trying to get my set up dialed in, but I just want to get the most, I can for my set up while maximizing my flow and I didn’t know how much the hose affected it. I currently have the quarter inch flex hose I should upgrade to steel due to the expanding. I just was curious how much of a performance increase I would get by making that change, also I was wondering if jumping to 3/8 would be a good idea cause I have also heard things about pressure dropping using 3/8 versus quarter inch or should I try to stick with the quarter inch size and just find a steel braided option?

I checked the listing on Amazon for their replacement and it states only for grand falls pressure washers. At this point I don’t know of any other hose that will work on this without a way to adapt those threads.
