Video in brief:- Given:- AB upon PQ, AC upon PR and median AD upon PM To proof:- triangle ABC similar to triangle PQR Construction:- produce AD to point E such that AD is equal to DE and join CE... Same in second triangle Prove:- first we will prove AEC equals to triangle PNR of another triangle It is given that AC is equal to PR and AD is equal to pm we can write ad + ad that is AE and pm + PM that is PN. We will get, ab upon PQ , ae upon PN and ac upon PR. -(1) Now we will take triangle ABC and and triangle DCE angle ADB equals to angle CDE because they are vertically opposite angles ... BD equals to DC because d is midpoint...and ad equals to de by construction.... So we can say triangle ABC is equal to triangle CDE by SAS similarity criteria. From here we get ab is equal to CE and same in another triangle that is PQ = en Now the first equation (1) Replace ab upon PQ with EC upon RN and other all same. From here we get triangle Ace is equal to triangle p e n by SSS similarity criteria, Similarly, Triangle ABE equals to triangle p e n. From here we get... Angle B A D is equals to angle pqm and angle DSC equals to angle m p r. Adding both we will get angle A is equal to angle p Now in triangle abc and triangle pqr Angle A is equal to angle p prove that above Ab is equal to PQ given AC is equal to PR given So, triangle ABC is similar to triangle pqr by SAS similarity.
