**Nationalism in India (Class 10th CBSE)** Nationalism in India emerged as a powerful movement during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as a response to British colonial rule. It was a struggle for freedom and self-determination that brought together people from various regions, cultures, and religions. The movement aimed at uniting Indians against British exploitation, fostering a sense of collective identity, and asserting the country's sovereignty. Key events and figures in the development of Indian nationalism include: 1. **Early Nationalist Movements**: In the late 19th century, social reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy and organizations such as the Indian National Congress (INC), founded in 1885, played a crucial role in raising awareness about the injustices of British rule and pushing for political reforms. 2. **Partition of Bengal (1905)**: The British decision to divide Bengal to weaken nationalist sentiments led to widespread protests, marking a turning point in Indian resistance. The slogan "Vande Mataram" became a symbol of unity and patriotism. 3. **Gandhi's Role in Nationalism**: Mahatma Gandhi's leadership, starting with the Non-Cooperation Movement (1920-22), followed by the Salt March (1930), and the Quit India Movement (1942), was pivotal. His principles of non-violence (ahimsa) and civil disobedience inspired millions to join the fight for independence. 4. **Role of Revolutionary Movements**: Alongside Gandhi’s non-violent methods, groups like the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA), led by Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, advocated for more direct action against British rule. 5. **Civil Rights and Social Reform**: Nationalism in India was also intertwined with social reform movements aimed at challenging the caste system, untouchability, and gender inequality, with leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar fighting for the rights of Dalits. In conclusion, Indian nationalism was a multifaceted movement, which not only sought independence from British rule but also worked towards social and political equality. It culminated in the independence of India in 1947, ending over two centuries of British colonial dominance. Like 💀☠🤬🤬 RAPID REVISION

Nationalism in India 1. The Idea of Nationalism Nationalism in India emerged as a reaction to British rule. Inspired by freedom movements worldwide, Indians united against colonial oppression. Gandhiji played a key role in mass movements. 2. First World War and Its Impact (1914-1918) Heavy taxes and rising prices burdened Indians. British forced Indians to fight in the war. Nationalist sentiments grew due to economic hardships. 3. Rowlatt Act (1919) & Jallianwala Bagh Massacre Rowlatt Act allowed imprisonment without trial. Protests led to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre (April 13, 1919), where British forces fired on unarmed civilians. This event fueled widespread anger against British rule. 4. Non-Cooperation Movement (1920-1922) Started by Mahatma Gandhi to oppose British rule peacefully. Indians boycotted British goods, schools, and services. People resigned from government jobs and refused to pay taxes. Ended after the Chauri Chaura incident (1922), where a violent protest led to police station burning. 5. Civil Disobedience Movement (1930-1934) Started with the Dandi March (Salt March) on 12 March 1930. People broke salt laws, refused to pay taxes, and boycotted British goods. Women, tribals, and business communities participated. 6. Quit India Movement (1942) Launched during World War II with the slogan "Do or Die". People organized protests and strikes against British rule. British arrested leaders, but protests continued nationwide. 7. Role of Different Groups in the Freedom Struggle Peasants & Farmers - Protested against high taxes and British land policies. Women - Took active roles in movements and protests. Business Class - Supported Swadeshi and opposed British economic policies. 8. Independence and Partition (1947) Continuous resistance forced the British to leave. India gained independence on 15 August 1947, but was divided into India and Pakistan. Conclusion Gandhi’s leadership and mass participation played a crucial role. The freedom struggle was marked by non-violence, civil disobedience, and unity. India's independence was a result of decades of struggle by various sections of society. Please like ❤

1:44 it is true that we should always stand with truth but without violence it is very hard to fight other At the time of Mahabharat KRISHAN was also stand with truth and he try to stop the war but after he use violence to win this show that "अहिंसा परमो धर्मः, धर्म हिंसा तथैव चः"। Means ahinsa to param dharm hai per jab dherm per aach aye to HIANSA karni hi padti h

Bhai ye statement "धर्म हिंसा तथय्व च" kisi bhi religious scriptures/sculptures me nahi likha hai. Haa lekin mai iss baat se agree karta hu ki agar dharm pe baat aaye to hinsa necessary hai (Mahabharat bhi proof hai)🙏🏻

Non violence is fine but after the jallianwala bagh incident when hundreds of people died, gandhiji shouldn't have called off the movement as people were reacting to how they were treated without any mercy.... Other leaders were always hanged or arrested, but even in jail he got all the facilities. It's all behind a curtain that is not being removed... And about bhagwat geeta it is also stated that it is also a sin to suffer through repression
