Good to know you've resolved it, Bill, and also that the 'normal' improved wiring for these Pacers (ie pickup from all wheels) would still work with this shuttle unit if you positioned the break in the rails differently. (For those that haven't read the comments on the other two videos, the break in the track is positioned perfectly for the Lima 158, which is longer, and has different pickup arrangements from the 142.)

Glad to see that you've got it working now, Bill

Nice bit of detective work OOBill! With electrical issues we often find that our normal logical processes won't solve the problem and it is often as the result of a random unsuspected issue that eventually comes to light, as in your case, and our logical thoughts prove to have been correct - I wonder if Michael Faraday had the same problems?!

Good job. I was a maintenance electrician for 40 years 🤪. You can go down lots of blind alleys. Before you get to the answer 👍

Thanks for latest video now it makes perfect sense. If you only want to use your 142 and 156 you will now be happy. If you want to have greater multiple unit variety in the future then you can have 2 differently positioned isolation breaks with a switch or a different platform. A little (& cheap) project for the future. I like shuttle units as an end to end track can be easier to utilise the available space.

Hi Bill, I have a Class 37 8H22 the same as yours that does not run. Would you like it for a video? Thanks, Isaac.

I don't really have time for repairing other people's locos right now but will do soon probably. I'd rather work on locos I haven't worked on before but if you're stuck remind me in a month or two.

@@oobill I also have a Princess Elizabeth 6201, 2 0-4-0’s, the Class 37 and a Bachman Small Prairie that is jittery. They are all slightly working but not perfect, so might have to be all in 1 video to make it long enough. Keep me posted and if all works out I’ll send them to you. Thanks for this update, Isaac

Email me details including pics of one loco and I'll consider it. I will only look at one loco per person at a time

I will do Bill. Don’t know how long until that will be though as I have to wait to get the trains back as we have had our roof done. Thanks again, Isaac

Having worked in engineering most of my adult life, I steer well clear of electronics as much as I can, they are intrinsically unreliable, and I can explain why if asked
