Superb recordings. Nice to hear a clear recording of a chopper doing what it does best! All it needs is some clag. Top marks to GCR for allowing you to record this sounds.

When you turn on power to your layout and start the 20, the first start will be cold. All starts after that will be warm (regardless of how long the engine has been turned off). The only way to get another cold start would be to turn the power to the layout off and on again. I may add some kind of timer in future to enable another cold start after a long shutdown but at the moment it works only as I've just described.

Yes, I did use a milling machine, but the effort was only just worth it, the gain was nowhere near as great as you get with other diesel locos. The plastic tanks just pull off or unclip from memory, to reveal a big lump of metal beneath.

@legomanbiffo okay nice one :) also if teh loco is left swiched of does it automaticly do the long cold start but if i started it up then shut it down 5 mins later and started it up 20 seconds after shutdown would it do a normal start as if it were warmed up ? cheers

Hi good video as always are you planning on doing a class 47 multi start?

What’s the command for the cold start?
@legomanbiffo6 жыл бұрын
There isn't a cold start as such. The first time you start the loco it will prime and then start. If you subsequently stop and restart the engine you won't get any engine priming as it's already 'warm'. That process is automatic.
