10 out of 10 for editing all those clips. Class 31s are often neglected from our videos so a job is well done. Thanks again

That gurgle of the engine brings back memories. I used to live next to the Birmingham Leicester line and all we used to get were 20’s, 31’s, & 58’s. You could tell from a distance which was which. 31’s tend to be a forgotten classic. Great video. 👍👍

At 2.45 - there’s something very cool about a loco running on it’s own!

Great video. 8:40 shouldn't that signal have turned red after the 31 passed it?

It Did, Those Signals Have Been Moved Now. The Sig on The Left is Now Futher Down The Track On The Bend and The Sig on The Right Is Now At The Start Of The Platform. (Keynsham Station - Bristol)

swearingkevo wonder why no others are. Like what happened to the Network rail ones. My guess is that they were replaced by class 37s

I remember those locos from the late 70's / early 80's when I spent time staying in a gatekeepers cottage along the East Suffolk Line between Beccles & Oulton Broad South. Never used to hear them until they were quite close, unlike the class 37's. I don't think any of the survivors now are mainline registered so Kev you're done us a favour here with the video :) If anyone is interested, found an early pic of a 31 at Beccles station - D5508 : www.eastanglianrailwayarchive.co.uk/Railways/Ipswich-to-Lowestoft/i-TB67v5z/A

Jon Crawford . I think there is one mainline registered 31128

Once a common sight but sadly only a few mainline examples left. But some great engine sounds though.

31128 is the only one that can go on the main line at the moment

Why is it that many of these clips are just the loco(s)? Do they not pull passenger or freight cars?
@terrier_productions2 жыл бұрын
They are a mix traffic design. However, today the only passenger trains that the remaining 31s haul are only on heritage railways.. currently, only one has still got a mainline ticket.. Withdrawals started in 1975 and ended in 2017.. In the case of freight, they have been a common sight on freight between their introduction in 1957 up until the start of the 21st century.
