Class 40 40145 Bombs Through Penkridge - The East Lancs Stalwart

With no steam tours around the midlands, i opted to catch a rare diesel hauled tour by a Class 40 heading from the East Lancs Railway to Oxford, which would run via Sapperton Bank and the heavily graded Lickey Bank. I chose to avoid the popular spots and decided to stay local. First location is Sutton Park where the 40 is seen on route to Walsall. The final scene sees the loco shifting through Penkridge on it's way home. Hope you enjoy.

Nicely captured shots Liam, the 40 sounded to be in good form. You got better weather than I got up north. Went up for 5972's run and got soaked whilst waiting at locations. Regards, Sam
