Jeffery is a nasty person, but the girls were wrong to do this to him. He very clearly found a like-minded individual, and they ruined his chances with her as well as any chance of Jeffery being able to critically reflect on himself through the eyes of another person. Eventually, Karen would have been exposed to Jeffery's nature and then from there they would either break up or Jeffery would fix himself. If the girls actually wanted to get away from Jeffery, they should let him focus on other people.

OK to preference I have never played class of 09 myself, but I have seen other people play it and even some analysis of class 09. I feel like a lot of people are saying that Karen dodged a bullet, but I have seen the effects dating someone can have on someone else of course this isn’t like a “fix them” situation, but a relationship can genuinely be a positive thing for some people, especially for someone like Jeffrey, who is used to being constantly bullied.

Nah. That's not how that works. What Jeffery needs is a reality check that forces him to be introspective and change. Just putting him in a room with a lady is not going to change much of anything, and given the dark side of his personality, definitely not gonna end well. Ironically that does make him one of the less toxic individuals in the game since he's at least potentially fixable, but that's only a small concession.

For the most part, it actually does the opposite and amplifies existing problems by putting them under strain rather than correcting them. Especially for teenagers who already tend to not be great at the whole introspection thing, for the most part that kind of thinking only lands them in toxic relationships. Same thing gets routinely seen even in adults though, eg a lot of incels who manage to get dates end up either becoming possessive of their partners or alienate them with their own bigotry and unresolved hangups. With relationships, you really want to be in a healthy position first before you try starting one, as things can and most likely will go very, very wrong if you aren't. There are many, many people, myself included, who had to learn this the hard way.
