Revolutionary thinking in a review, 60-80 acceleration in 6th gear! I want this info on every motorcycle review I ever see.

I am very happy with my 2012 ninja. Traction control has saved me a couple of times on the road and the ABS just smooths things out. The engine is amazing too, easy to cruise and over 9000rpm it just rips. Surprisingly comfortable too compared to my 08 R1.

A good video review and I would agree with the outcome as the HP4's electronic active suspension is a taste of the future. However, it is almost 1/2 a second of a lap slower than an RSV4, even though it has 25 more HP, nearly 30 lbs less weight, and the cutting edge suspension tech. That is a huge gap for a sub-2 minute lap and worth noting. I am also surprised that the Panigale R is no more powerful than an S.
@SteveC-Shaman11 жыл бұрын
The RSV4 is just a more approachable, more sophisticated package. The chassis is pure race bike.

Purchased the 2020 1290 R, I really think this is the best motorcycle made for the street. Insane power, up to 130 mph am side by side, friend ZX-14R. Even more comfortable than the 14R,so easy to ride. Downfall eat bugs, high insurance.

Owning the HP4, I was surprised no mention was made about the multiple rear suspension bushings that come with the bike that allow for rear ride height to be adjusted beyond typical preload adjustments. My bike came with the middle bushing and I felt the bike turned in a bit slow compared to my track bike - installing the bushing that raised the rear to its highest setting helped significantly. I will assume the test bike had the performance chip installed as well. Additional suspension adjustments are possible with the purchase of an additional fork leveling sensor.

Funny that the Ducati was a few milliseconds behind the Aprilia on track, and yet BMW was picked? It's so heavy compared to anything else. I have rode the BMW and it felt crazy heavy. I own a 2015 Ducati R now. It's amazing on track but hate it on the road.

There should be a test done with bikes with upgrades for under $20,000. If you put BMW HP4 - Base Model ($19,990 MSRP) vs. a Kawasaki ZX-10R with $5,691 worth of upgrades, this story would be much different.

the review should have sided heavier on road behavior, 90% of these bikes life is going to be road use, not to mention most people would probably do faster laps on used r1 setup for the track than there 20k babies.

The Report: I cannot take Motorcycliste Magazine ever seriously again if you guys are driving in Blue-Jeans!!! Driving without proper clothing seems anything but not professional! The Superbikes: I was riding a HP4 for two full days. It is the best bike i have ever driven so far. It's DDC works fabulous and even under difficult road conditions the tires stick to the ground like glue! Best Superbike in the world - Good Job BMW - well done! Greetings from Bavaria!

+mad max "the best superbike in the world" which, however, doesn't win in SBK. Aprilia won three riders championships and four manufacturers, championship.

Second slower than the panigake? Bmw sucks
@Full_Deflection8 жыл бұрын
Some people just aren't very good at math. Let me help you out: It was .32 seconds slower with that rider, on that day. That's a small enough margin to be accounted for with a change of rider. However, it was .32 seconds slower in these conditions. It is far and away a better bike for the road, which is where it they will see most use, so I'd save ten grand and leave the Ducati for people that prefer looking at their motorcycles to riding them.
@dmartin238 жыл бұрын
Vaperators your a twat. Is that why Ducati just won the British superbikes? Is that why the Ducati panigale just won the world superstock manufacture title? And currently the only bike to be destroying the Kawasaki in world superbikes? The superstock title said it all...and that you know fucking nothing mate.
@Full_Deflection8 жыл бұрын
You think that those bikes are stock? bahahahaha. You're fucking clueless.

"FIM Superstock 1000 motorcycles are allowed modifications more aimed at safety and crash survivability/repairability than outright performance such as fiberglass silhouette bodywork with fluid retention capabilities and improved hand and foot controls. FIM Superstock 1000 motorcycles are allowed performance modifications such as brake pads and discs, chaindrive systems, exhaust systems, fork internals and rear shock absorbers." You mean like that? You really are clueless. It's kind of adorable.
@Full_Deflection8 жыл бұрын
I want you to be specific as to which superstock series you're referring to and who the rider and team are from Ducati that is dominating.
