I’m a Real Madrid fan and even I said Messi is the greatest player I’ve ever seen after he scored 91 goals in a calendar year! I never say never, but that record will never be broken. Messi is just from a different planet. He can literally pass through a whole team in his prime, he k he even did it when he was 18💯

That red card incident with Rooney imo was Ronaldo's official transformation into a Ballon d'Or level of player. He has been never out of the Top 2 best players since. In 2007, it was him and Kaka. From 2008 onwards, it was either him or Messi.

Let me just say this once Ronaldo can turn any top league team into a champion's league powerhouse. Messi only ever played in one club and succeeded tremendously. But he hasnt produced the same for his country. Barcelona is built around Messi to suit his style. Every team Ronaldo played in required Ronaldo breaking into the club's style before achieving success. He even achieved success with a weaker portugal side compared to argentina. Also he is older than Messi and yet still such a consistent top class forward. Messi is probably the most talented gifted footballer but Ronaldo is the most hardworking athlete from a skinny winger to a prolific striker who can jump so high, goalkeepers even using their arms cant reach his heights. Goddamn monster of an athlete all from hardwork. Even if Messi may be argued as the better footballer, Ronaldo is the better athlete and after the two retire, my admiration and respect will be for Ronaldo.
@soflynn22
@soflynn22 4 жыл бұрын
Dio Brando you said it yourself Messi is the better footballer. If you think he didn’t work incredibly hard too to achieve that. You’re massively naive. Messi has scored with his head, his right foot. His free kicks and weight of pass are so so accurate. All these things take thousands of hours to perfect. Don’t assume it was all handed to Messi on a silver platter.
@Me-nq2cf
@Me-nq2cf 4 жыл бұрын
@@soflynn22 compared to ronaldo, who is renowned for his work ethic by everyone he was. Ronaldo wasnt noticed until 18, messi by 12 had joined Barca because if his talent. And messi isnt necessairally the better footballer, hes the better dribbler and passer. Ronaldo is the better athlete which really evens things up.
@stanleychen5754
@stanleychen5754 4 жыл бұрын
@@soflynn22 I never said he didnt work hard, but clearly Ronaldo was the harder worker. Shown in the Euros and World cup, the man was injured yet coached his Portugese side and showed all sorts of emotions. In the world cup going up against a stronger Spanish side with De Gea argueably the best keeper in the world in 2018. He bagged a hattrick. While Messi contemplated retirement from the national side. Ronaldo never once said to give up or retire from anything, yet Messi has publicly stated him wanting to retire international football. That is why I respect CR7 more as an athlete and person, no doubt messi is great and tied with CR7 in my eyes as the GOAT. They can share that title for me cause they both deserved it, but all I wanna say is, CR7 is the better athlete, the better man which is why if I had to choose one GOAT, it would be CR7.
@stanleychen5754
@stanleychen5754 4 жыл бұрын
@@Me-nq2cf Yup Messi is the more naturally gifted and skillful playmaker. Ronaldo has changed to a more goal scoring minded forward so he probably has the arsenal of skills just the opportunity to use it doesnt come often as he needs to position himself in the box to receive balls etc. But Messi is the more clinical finisher sadly stats don't lie, Ronaldo on the other hand can convert flashier goals and more long distance shots and I would say is more clutch than Messi. You have to keep in mind Barcelona has always been stronger than Real madrid as well. MSN basically consisted of a GOAT status player, the best striker in the world at that time when MSN was still a thing. And Neymar who is argueably a GOAT as well just below CR7 and Messi. Ronaldo only had Bale and Benzema during that period and Di Maria and Ozil. Benzema is nowhere the striker Suarez is, the others are no where the level of Neymar and Di Maria and Ozil are never going to be the same level as Xavi and Iniesta. The only thing RMD prob had better was their goalkeeper in Casillas. (GOAT keeper for me) so yea Messi has always played in one club with the better players than Ronaldo so perhaps his numbers are better than Ronaldo cause of this reason. Let's just all agree each player has his pros edging out each other only narrowly. They should both be GOATs in terms of purely being a footballer.
@Me-nq2cf
@Me-nq2cf 4 жыл бұрын
@@stanleychen5754 well see when u say Messi is the better finisher that isnt true. Messi has a better goals to game ratio because hes always played as a winger who cuts inside. Only in 07/08 did Ronaldo begin cutting inside, and after that he scored 30+ goals a season easy. And in Ronaldos time at RM he outscored Messi. He had a superior goals to game ratio. To recap, messi has a better goals to game ratio overall because he plays for the same team against the same opposition for 10+ years with a team based around his style of football. Ronaldo went from a out and out winger in Man U, to a Winger who cuts inside at RM to the most complete striker ever at Juventus. Ronaldo is a superior finisher and crosser, while Messi is a better dribbler and overall passer

Robert Marston if totti can do it then defo I mean he’s got the best body of any footballer ever!!! Also Italy is fairly easy on your body compared to other leagues

Whatever The Hell We Want I have to disagree with you about saying Italian league is easier on the body. If your on about fast paced game then Yh but Italy is if not the most physical league.

Neymar Jr 10 not for strikers it isn’t because it’s slower and there isn’t as many duels. Compared to the premier league anyway, over hear long balls to tall strikers will be hit at least a few times a game. Plus Italy has stricter refs if there the same as a few years ago when I used to watch more often. Also the pace of the game means there is less running onto the ball for strikers and defenders don’t chop players down as much. Lastly defenders aren’t as reckless and don’t make lazy late challenges. I’m basing this of 12-15 seasons where I watched a lot more.

Ive never seen ronaldo make a big deal about his hair cuts. I thought he would be that type of celebrity driven player when he arrived so I actually remember me and some of my family who also support united writing him off. But all I see with Ronaldo is 100% commitment to football. Nothing less

Giggs' analysis on pretty much everything is trash. They are discussing when they realised Ronaldo had changed, and Giggs brings up a goal from 2009. This goal is after Ronaldo has won the ballon d'or and champions league the previous year already? Ridiculous. The guy is trash and living off of his teammates, always did as a player too.

To be honest I wouldn't look too much into his goal numbers because he decided that was all he would focus on I'm sure many players would get those tallies if they did nothing else on the football pitch and took all the free kicks & pens etc... He has to hit the goal numbers he does because he's too weak defensively he's always been like a child when his team doesn't have the ball. But if he's at least scoring or creating then he's useful, his team's can work around his defensive frailties. He went from literally being a hindrance to his own team in 2005/06 the opposition would've considered it a numerical advantage for them if his name was on the team sheet and ManUtd fans didn't want him, to world class in under 2 seasons. I was pleased he became useful but in terms of people branding him 1 of the best ever, he has so many patient people to thank for that. 1 of them Ferguson and he does acknowledge that which is good.

Furious Pit Bull It was majority of the United’s squad especially Gary Neville who kept preaching and insisting Sir Alex and the board to sign him up that very season! But Sir Alex definitely know that and his worth to get him at all cost. If anyone remember that period who’s the player heavily linked with us was ronaldinho and I was more than excited when we signed Cristiano in the end instead.
