CGR must reintroduce this as a AIP Express btw Katunayake to CMB 1 + repaint it in Org Green & Cherry RED !!! Or to be operated from KDY to Badulla + retrofit it with upgraded POWER PLANTS + Add the rest of the passenger coaches = 6

Still i remember when I was a little child in 1976 s 5 crash happened near wadurawa station i went to see the incident with my father and still i remember name s of both drivers one s name is aariyadasa he lost both of his legs and other one s name is silva he lost one of his leg engine was perfectly directoryed but both of drivers miracleasly survived

SL railways must update the S5 & reuse it both on Badulla - Cmb Line + Cmb - Kdy Line As 1st & 2nd class with catering service !!! They could refit it with MTU power plants ( Maximum Transmission Unit ) German engines similar to S 14 or even better with Hitachi upgrade with a total output of 3.000 HP / 2.237 KW or similar + repaint it with the original color scheme of Green & Brown. + It would be great to watch it thrusting pass again
Why don't you arrange S 5. As intercity train in between Negombo Colombo Fort or similar route for office travelers even little higher ticket fare as most of willing to go with these train facility. It is very sad to see S 5 idelling at Dematagoda yard
