Five lessons in five minutes - how to build emotional connections that back up your decisions
We often think that the best way to sell our ideas is by making rational arguments. Yet if we really want to convince others, we also need to make emotional appeals that tap into the brain's need for excitement, curiosity, and comfort. That's one of the counterintuitive - or “frinky” - insights shared by Stanford GSB professor of marketing Baba Shiv in this video based on his course Designing Solutions by Leveraging the Frinky Science of the Human Mind. #classtakeaways

Great advices. I often feel that more and more people are looking for money, they want to get rich. But if we live our lifes just for the money we will just think till our death. To have a real impact on the world, and achievethe greatest goals, we should alway work while trying to have an impact with our work, even after our death. we all should live like we want to change history, in a meaningful way. 🙂🤟🏾

This is so amazing. Agree with every word you said. And something that I needed to hear! Thank you so much, professor. And your mom is probably right about your friends making more money, but the richness of appreciative comments on this video is more than any wealth that anyone can acquire. Thanks, again.

Very good advice re getting support or buy in also have a rough not complete plan or prototype. You want the person to have concrete input into your ideas...support either financial, or other will follow. I used this strategy when developing new programs for universities...I studied with Philip Kotler at Northwestern in the late 70s..he taught me so much I used in my professional career as an administrator of colleges and universities and as a consultant. My academic training was as a clinical psychologist and I taught in that field for 20 yrs at least a course a semester and practiced from time to time...my research and publications were in both psychology and in applied marketing mostly as applied to colleges, univerisities and professional schools in medicine and dentistry. I urge students in all fields to take elective courses from the best minds on campus bec you never know how you may be able to come up with your own niche in either academia, consulting, or some other field that is unique to you...it can make you really stand out amongst your peers upon graduation. Try to publish as a grad student...the more publications you have even as a jr co author the easier your transition into either academia or consulting etc...
