Yup, they were great tho. I worked for MRT, but if we were full, I'd send people to Class VI. Ace was just too commercial. No one should own the river bank, IMO. 96-99 rocked tho! Trying to get my teen sons to go guide.

Rafted down that river twice. The last time with Class VI River Runners and they were/are a great outfitter. Had a great time and can't wait to go back again.

I know it's kinda weird when you first try to do it, but do these guides even explain proper backpaddle technique? Or forward for that matter. I see this all the time in commercial groups. The guys at 2:32 are essentially doing nothing.

Yup, during the bus ride then practice in flat water and when shit his the fan, you remember, plus your guide's job is to yell out instructions...left back, right forward three times then all forward hard (for example). No one too tall or strong in front of our spend all day fighting them so they wouldn't accidentally turn the boat in a really bad situation, but I'm 115pound, 5'4" little girl who was 14 my first trip as a customer, job by age 16. Amazing!!!!

Ive ran the gauley. They are class Vs with some being top ten in the worldz

@@naranjoandres32 The Gauley used to be top 10 years ago, not so much anymore as there are too many other rivers that have much harder, legitimate class 5 rapids. Search for the Zambezi and Futalefu. Sorry to pop your bubble. People who tell you it's too 10 are living in the past. BTW, I've been guiding the Gauley since 1975 and know it intimately...

This is not even Class V rafting. Big deal, some slow motion waves. Class VI is life threatening and commercial death. These guys wouldnt be in the boat if it was real class VI.
