My mom had a '67 fastback, European delivery, that had carbs on it; was always a problem to tune and sync them. I would opt to keep fuel injection if it was my project; will be looking forward to what you and Patina decide on it.

Header- As long as there's clean metal- scrub in acetone, then spread on 2-part JB Weld, pushing it into the holes, slathering it onto the "thin" areas. Let cure 24 hours. Sand smotth with 240-400 grit Wipe with acetone. High heat primer and paint. Cure with propane torch before hadling and installing.

HUBBABUBBA DOOPYDOOP all that does is leave too many parts protruding into the pipe disturbing the air flow.
@HUBBABUBBADOOPYDOOP4 жыл бұрын
@@aarongrabowski5620 Please don't exaggerate. Did I say gob it on, push it into the holes until it forms an obstruction? No. Heck- he could shove a rag, tied to a piece of wire- up the pipe, under the holes- then apply the JB. "Muffler Tape" can work well, if the products' directions are followed. Prep is key. Mechanically AND chemically clean the surfaces first. Muffler tape could easily crack with heat cycling- whereas JB weld should hold for years. Buy new, bolt it on. That's too easy. Fix what you've got if you can. $10 worth of epoxy & acetone- or $125 for some cheap knockoff.

Please get Patina's DNA tested as I 'am pretty sure we must be related. If headers are a bit difficult to replace then I would opt for the new ones. Get those done and you have no worries. Looking good. I have always liked VW's but never had one. Great video. Keep them coming.

I always wondered how those engines looked without the tins. It got down to 30 degrees in Deep East Texas. Her Royal Highness Bambi Consuela. The Queen of Everything at Casa Bambi (the chihuahua ) refused to go outside and survey her realm...She gave me the same sleepy blinky look Patina gave you. Later, I put her pink sweater on her. She kept it on all day
