​@@Vulpas no the stages werent omitted... the arcade original just straight up has less stages! The snes port came later and added stuff while also shuffling bosses arround... but people were so familiar with the snes version they thought THAT was how things were!

@@alex_-yz9to The magazine screenshots from during the arcade game development show that at least the Technodrome level was actually cut from the original version and put back in the console port, so it wasn't technically new content but a restored beta level. Being sent to the past in the sewers makes no sense anyway, so it's clear to me the way things happen on SNES was the original vision before the deadlines hit.

I remember scrolling through the arcade back in the day. (Mostly Indies though) Loved downloading trials and demos of random ones I found interesting. Sucks that it might just all be deleted one day. yeah, ive been dreaming of stuff like a steam "super nitrome collection" for nitrome games, or stuff like that, to keep these awesome games alive, sadly alot of videogames are probably gonna be lost because they are not being treated with proper historic respect and are treated as stuff that is suppose to disapear with the time, on a different note, i hate this and i also hate art restoration, because they are painting over the damn thing, i just hate the fact we are loosing artwork, and videogames, because they are not being preserved well enough, crazy thing is that i actually emailed a developper of an old indie arcade game on the xbox 360 a couple years back to know if the game still existed, as it was a game i loved as a kid, and they said that the game files were basicly lost to time... game was called Tourist Trap and had a crazy jackalope trap you into a church, was so cool.

There’s a few things worth noting about some of these: Bubble bobble Neo, Bust-A-Move live both have wiiware versions albeit with some changes (bubble bobble not having online play as example) and outrun arcade live arcade is for intents and purposes a “port” of outrun 2 (sp)

I remember Hydro Thunder as an arcade machine. I also picked it up for PS2 vis the Midway collection. I had no idea there was another Hydro Thunder, I'll have to get that too.

FYI there's also H2Overdrive which was a spiritual successor made by people who worked on the original. It plays pretty faithfully to the original, arguably moreso than Hurricane. It never got any ports though. Thankfully the arcade board just ran PC hardware so you can play nowadays with Teknoparrot.

There was a Double Dragon release by Razorworks, I have it. Nothing to write home about, some graphical filters. The problem I see with all these games is that they’re still $10. They should do a major sale in the store.

the wife and I bought a series S last december and part of my collecting games for it was stuff off the 360 that was backward compatible... especially moreso now with that news coming out! I did grab Daytona off of their website, as well as final fight: double impact. some of these are still on my wishlist like Hydro Thunder, but will have to snap them up soon! definitely a few I'm gonna have to look for see if I can still get them.

OutRun Online Arcade uses many of the same modes and graphics from OutRun 2 which is compatible on Xbox 360 consoles so I guess you can play that if you didn't get the chance to get OutRun Online Arcade while it was still up.

Shame nothing modern has really done what XBLA did so well. Is it because we have more choices? Big industry elbowing into the online space and nudging out offerings like these? Microsoft initially had a game size limit of 200mb, so it really only allowed for smaller scope and indie game titles to fit under that file size limit. Once they started increasing and then removing the size caps, bigger games got put onto the market and eventually they started selling every game, including Triple A, on the digital store.

i picked up 1942 joint strike a while back. a good game, but hard at times (and oddly has no continues) Pac-Man championship edition DX and Galaga Legions DX also great games. With some games, some on those Xbox 360 games can only be purchased on the Xbox One or the Xbox Series console. While with some games, some of them can only be brought on the Xbox 360 Live Marketplace.

I dearly wish Sega would think about relicensing the planes for Afterburner Climax so they could re-release it for current gen. I have the game still for my 360, and while obviously it can't quite compare to the arcade version (that has a flight chair that moves along with the plane on the screen; great fun), on a big screen TV and decent speakers it's near-arcady goodness.

0:50 The delisting of products didn't have to do with the X360 store going away. This was due to the X360 (and really, every platform at Microsoft) migrating to a newer transaction system. It also only affected products on the X360 store. If these products were already for sale on Modern (Xbox One, Series S/X) that status has not changed. 1:08 "You'll still be able to download these games once they're gone, assuming you've purchased them" Correct. You have a license for those products on Microsoft's servers, and those will be available to you.

Thats not it completely....anything you purchased before the migration you still have access to. Its anything that you purchased using MS points...I owned delisted games, but because I purchased them with MS points in 2009/2010 they do not show up in your transaction history anymore..... Its kinda hilarious how so many people are OK with MS knowingly ripping them off and stealing content from them, because their customer support people will literally tell you that they know the problem exists and that there is nothing they can do about it.

If you are okay with not having online/Steam integration, there's Outrun 2006 Coast2Coast on PC, the same game but with a "quest mode" and local multiplayer instead of online.

TMNT Re-Shelled also had analog facing and attacking on the full 3d plane, where as traditional beat em ups are only 2D. I remember missing lots of hits because I was facing a little too far up or down. It feels like no other beat em up cause of that and it threw me off, especially when I've played a better version of this game before.

• Hydro Thunder Hurricane actually goes for 15 bucks like Strider does, not 10. Regardless you can actually get it for less than 4 bucks right now. • The "evolved" retro games (Specifically "Missile Command" and "Battlezone" among others) are actually taken from Atari Classics Evolved on PSP. They all contain the original game along with a strange looking but fun "evolved" mode. My favorite of the bunch is "Warlords". • Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is actually still available to get, but you'll have to look up just "DX" to see it.

I doubt the xbox 360 marketplace is shutting down soon thanks to the robust back compat system nowdays, leading to some of the most played games being stuff like skate 3, older COD's and all the purchases and dlc's they no doubt still make plenty of money off of (judging by the prices some of these games still go for)

Im happy that i got the games from the XBLA , especially the collections and exclusive ports . D&D Chronicles of mystara is still my favourite of the bunch. Bangai-O was cool but somehow soulless in its menus . Guardian heroes is underrated . Double Dragon neon was awesome but way too short. And the RE1-remake that is actually the best of all remakes .

Interesting look. I do wonder how long it will be till OG Xbox backwards compatibility goes down as it's internet based. Hmmmmmm. I hope not. But yeah licenses, the date and if still up or a typo/real or not and it is May so it's soon if it was real. And the backend differences in store code and of course Xbox One/Series exist with certain ones that are compatible while others obviously are not and 360 stuck likely. That and the 360 date and time only goes to 2025 too which is interesting as other consoles go up to at least 2099/2100 I think. Only experienced offline ones on physical like the Live Arcade disk with ones like Pacman Championship Edition the original and a few others like Boom Boom Rocket, Zuma and such. Not these remasters. Never looked into Xbox store much at least not for Live Arcade games as much. At least some of these are physical. Outrun 2 Online looked like the original or SP version with its UI and I assume content then 2006 Coast to Coast so either of those 3 versions are physical and accessible (besides that well Online was on PS3/360 then the older ones being for sixth gen PS2/Xbox and PSP depending) besides the Online part I assume I don't know enough about the difference between Online and the other versions but I assume they are close enough.

Visually speaking, Turtles in Time Reshelled is fine. It’s the gameplay that ruins it. Even putting aside the lack of SNES moves and the generic ass soundtrack, the turtles can move in three dimensions while enemies cannot. It completely ruins the difficulty balancing and makes the game way too east. Just do diagonal attacks and you’ll never get hit.

Strider is a licensed IP from Capcom. They don't own him as a franchise of their own so $15 makes sense. As for TMNT Re-Shelled. When you have the 4Players Its very easy to lose your character. They added a way to find your character when they're all bunched up but it you need to tap the button each time. Music is different, voice cast is of the 2003 series and the gameplay doesn't feel as good as the snes. At some point get the Cowabunga collection and see for yourself on what I mean.

Not necessarily....I have a series X and back in I believe 2012 they were still using MS points for purchases. SO when they migrated over to the Xbone, something happened and EVERYTHING purchased with MS points is no longer available to people even IF they purchased it. MS customer support also will flat out tell you that you no longer have access to games or DLC you purchased with MS points, so MS knows its a problem and doesn't actually care....The TMNT arcade XBLA game is BC, but you cannot purchase it, but IF you purchased it with MS points you no longer own it.
