Collecting most of the CD-I compatible Video CDs and viewing them on my CRT was fun and even games like Tropic Thunder are kind of fun to play (with the "light' gun) I love my CD-i. It just takes one vertical slot in my retro stack and plays audio cds, if someone needs a reason to keep it (like most of the other devices, too 🙂). So, I keep and love it, for a visit all months to enjoy just the possibility to see that it existed.

Star Trek was also released in under two different names depending on region: The rather boring "Space Ship” or the brilliant “Harmageddon” Also, emulators let you use the overlays so you can add a bit of colour to them digitally.

They kinnda look like bootleg. The time when USA developers were trying to clone from succesful Japanese companies. Spongebob's were the case, everygame you know copied mechanics from a current Mario game.

Using the earlier Rabbid designs as zombies is an idea so clever I could see it happening in an official game.

Rayman 2 is my favourite one. It gives you this feeling of an adventure. Rayman 3 is amazing, but because of it's humorous tone you don't feel like you're going on an adventure to save the world. Rayman 1 is absurdly difficult and kind of bland.

I've never liked the "world of tomorrow" future look of everything being white and round. It feels forced and dishonest. Like they're showing off. I much more prefer steam punk and the rusty industrial feel. It's not forced as much as it is brutal and violent. It's the opposite, it's honest of it's cruelty. The giant grinding gears, the dark steamy surfaces. And everything moves, yet doesn't feel weak. They feel like they could be smashed like a hammer and still work. The Hawk trailer part is a perfect example. Dark, gloomy and the light rays with grinding gears. It's atmospheric. More of that.

Nostalgia goggles never gives you an accurate point of view. I grew up with the first and second encounter in my early teens. None of them were perfect back then, and they were the exact same games they are now. No matter how fondly I look back at them, they weren't perfect by any means. It's a game series from a smaller studio playing by the restrictions that it comes with. We're talking about a series where more than half of the games are considered controversial to the fanbase. Nevertheless, I had a really good time with this title despite it's flaws, and I liked it. Cheers!

Serious Sam 4 > Serious Sam TSE > Serious Sam 3 > Serious Sam TFE > Serious Sam 2. Dunno where Sibirian Mayhem fits in... yet... But I've heard others who even favor Serious Sam 2 above all, so it's subjective. At the end of the day; I like these games.

I recently got a 4 port 5200 on eBay, The seller had posted images of the system working but it wasn't turning on when I got it, in fact the power light doesn't turn on unless I short out a pin on the flip-flop chip. Bummed out, I found another 4 port that was confirmed to work, while the case was pretty banged up I just swapped the motherboards, that one ALSO didn't work, but at least I have a power light shining. Everything I could check with a multimeter checked out and now I am believing that the RF modulator is bad. But I don't have any fancy desoldering tools so, i'm kinda screwed. I think I got worse luck than FR didn't I?
