I would have put a rubber plug in the other holes and drilled a new hole in line with the ac connection. I say this because I have done this several times and I have spent 40 years doing HVAC refrigeration work. Those hoses are tough. Good job figuring it out. I bought my own crimping tools. Love your videos.

Got one of those radiatrs for my old Demon. Pulled the original on out. I think the new one will fit 👍 It didn’t have A/C in it when I bought it new. Base model. Just ordered the A/C. While I clean up wires under the dash, I’ll just keep dry fitting it for all those hoses, vent, water & A/C and the wiring. Maybe I’ll get them put in by summer !!! When you get old, things take 2-3 times longer to get done. Nice looking overall job !!! I enjoy and learn a lot from many channels out here, especially you, & Ed, & 318willrun. Hi Joe, thank you for the video. I have a 72 Cuda and I was told you can hook up the AC pressure control switch to make the electric fans come on when the air conditioner is turned on. Is this true and how is it done?
@JustMoparJoe Жыл бұрын
In a multifan system,or with a dual speed fan, you’d connect off the switch to activate a fan relay. The relay would supply the fan power, and the switch would supply the signal to power the relay.
@JustMoparJoe Жыл бұрын
Another answer would be to use a fan relay kit with a temperature probe to send signal. You may need all fans operating when it’s 95 out, even with the air conditioner off

Joe, does that ac compressor use the refrigerant as the lubrication for the rotating parts in the compressor? If so, wouldn't you have to remove the accessory drive belt to test drive if there is no refrigerant?
@JustMoparJoe2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. The compressor is quoted as being full of oil when shipped. It can only be mounted upright or 90 degrees from upright. The clutch doesn’t engage until the wire is energized. It should free wheel like an idler until then.

Quick question, does the kit include a carb idle solenoid to bump up the idle when under load at idle?

No sir. I would imagine adapting a solenoid from the late 80’s trucks wouldn’t be too hard. This car only has a slight cam. Shouldn’t be too bad

My younger son's first Boy Scout summer camp was in Mena. We had a great time but I've never sweat so much in my life! Amazingly few mosquitos - maybe was all those spiders that hung on my mosquito net all night long... ha ha.. Houston is no joke either, I usually carry an extra change of clothes with me driving around... but from that one experience Mena was way more humid.

Seems like you could just yank the system out of a wrecked 2024 Tahoe or something
@JustMoparJoe2 ай бұрын
Time and space are a factor. If he’s gotta pay me to pull a system, and then pay to install it, find a compatible compressor, the correct brackets to install it to the engine, the correct controller to run the system (as we wouldn’t want the controls from a Tahoe inside a 65 model car): he’s money ahead to buy a universal kit like this.
