Game 5 between the Stars and Avalanche in the 2000 Stanley Cup Playoffs. There is about 15 minutes of play missing from the 7 minute mark of the 1st period to the 14ish minute mark of the 2nd.

This was the series that solidified Belfour as a legend for me. I can only imagine how frustrating it must've been as a Colorado fan losing in the CF for the second year in a row against this Stars team.

Reminds me a lot of 2016 Lightning Penguins, so many future Hall of Famers going against each other. Nothing is better than stacked teams facing each other in the playoffs

The Lightning weren’t there yet. Vasilevskiy was still a backup. Brayden Point was still in Syracuse. And Stamkos missed almost the whole series.

You look at all the Hall of Fame talent on both these teams and you can't help but be in awe at being able to watch it live. I was only 15 and 16 when Dallas and Colorado faced each other in the Conference Finals and I loved every bit of it. Best part: I'm a Stars fan and my team won both those series against Colorado, both times in classic 7 game series. Unbelievable matchup between two titans.

@@tysonleblanc8862 Well, NBC's contract is up after this season. And considering their NBC Sports Channel is going away at the end of this year, something tells me they may not consider renewing. That could open the door for ESPN again, with a chance to have coverage of all 4 major US sports leagues again.

@@tysonleblanc8862 Alas, ESPN is back covering the NHL next season with a new 7-year deal. They'll utilizing their ESPN+ streaming a lot, but also have 25 nationally televised games on ESPN and ABC. I wonder who they'll get to broadcast games. Maybe Thorne could be back, though he is in his early 70s now.

I miss ESPN as a whole from back in the late 90’s- ‘00’s. That was back when they were ALL ABOUT SPORTS!! Now They’re a COMMUNIST/ANTI AMERICA/ANTI WHITE MEN COMPANY WHO OCCASIONALLY ACCIDENTALLY TALKS ABOUT SPORTS!!

I'm not saying players aren't good now a days but back then in the clutch and grab era; you had to fight for every inch. Every game every shift every play was an battle. It really seperated the men from the boys.

The 40 second goal horn used to piss me off so bad as an opposing fan. It was like really how is this allowed to happen. Islanders too back in the early 2000s. Shawn bates ps goal comes to mind.
