i live in Tennessee in a beautiful land of green rolling hills and horses. i am also in the sunset of my life battling kidney cancer im in stage 4 . I have decided to enjoy with my mind those things i have always loved but am no longer able to do physically. I have always had a plan of learning and enjoying sailing the world but it never came to fruition. I am also a musician and enjoy playing my guitars much as you do your violin. Music is something i cant imagine life without. I really enjoy listening to your playing music in your videos. this particular background music was so beautiful in Spain! i really enjoy your channel and its readily becoming one of my favorite sailing channels. Thank you for sharing so many beautiful experiences. You have made me feel young again! enjoy life to the fullest each and every day. life seems so short...

Dear lord, reading this just as Maya plays the violin, with that classic saudade/melancholia that accompanies all brazillian music, I teared up bigtime. I just wish you're either doing as good as possible or, at the very least, finally at peace and sailing the neverending seas of wherever you are. And thank you Maya for that beautiful interpretation as well as this marvelous channel.

I have to say,each time you release a video,it's even better than the last👏👏 Your"rap" session,which I'd prefer to call poetry in this case was very cleverly composed,and equally beautifully delivered,your voice is like music to my soul☺️ What a wonderful spectacle all the very well kept older boats,hats off to those caring for them to keep them in the water👍 I was sure you had a piece up your sleeve to play on your fiddle,and you didn't disappoint,Thankyou for all you put into making these videos,see you next time⛵️😊

Wayne Doeblin Hi Wayne, thanks so much for the lovely comment. And YAY, I actually wrote this piece intending for it to be ‘poetry’ rather than ‘rap,’ but I guess the definition of what it is isn’t all that important. I’m just so glad you liked it!

Wow. I have been fiddling for four years and this is really inspiring to me. Its so easy to get stuck in the rut of always playing the same stuff and this has really inspired me to be more creative with playing because thats obviously more fun. You are my new musical role model💖💖
@SailingMagicCarpet5 жыл бұрын
Hey Jennifer -- wow, thank you for commenting! It's wonderful to hear that you're a fiddler as well! I know how easy it is to get stuck into one style of playing, especially with the violin. There aren't a whole lot of "alternative" violin role models out there, so it's pretty easy to just stick with classical or celtic fiddle styles. But there's a whole world out there, including improvisation and all sorts of exciting stuff. If you've got questions or want to chat more about different musical options, just let me know!

Aladino, we need to hear more of your thoughts. Do you have concerns with the repairs on the stern and port side especially in rough weather? What are your points of inspection regarding those areas? What conversations have you had with other cruisers regarding Magic Carpet's 'rescue'? Your boat looks like it would fit right in with the classics. Celtic music played on a violin while sailing on a sailboat. On a boat that was saved from the jaws of death by a brave and determined craftsman who saw that the heart of the boat was still beating. Heroic! Surely there is some Celtic song on such a motif. Salute from N. California!

Some other travel vlogs show the location on google maps at the beginning of the video. As a regular KZbin viewer of mostly travel vlogs, I find that helpful for point of reference sake. Once I googled Minorca, I found out that it was part of a group of Islands about a hundred plus miles south of Barcelona on the Mainland.
