Nothing about PPI, funerals, life insurance or attempts to emotionally blackmail us into donating to charity. These ads are more entertaining than most of today's TV programmes

"16 year old Amanda Murphy" Miss Thames TV...........Bloody Hell !! Must've been all that milk they were drinking back in the 1970's. I like how drinking Cresta turned you in to Jack Douglas ! As a child of the 1970's I had Cyborg and his Invader space ship, but the dome cracked after a week and then someone stole it when I left it in my back garden...............I know it was you, John Bartlett. I hope you see this and feel ashamed . Don't worry, I nicked your Dinky NCC Enterprise in revenge !

Good old Trevor Bannister has more than his hands full again. I remember trying some Denim until my uncle put me onto Aramis. Look-In was a great mag with some great covers - they are worth a few bob nowadays. The Richard O' Sullivan ad is still funny and must have gone down well at the time. Used to love the Cresta ads but I hardly ever bought it.

The Country Code advert must have been a reaction to the two hot summers in the decade. It was also the first and last time I put ice cubes into a beer at the pub because it was so hot. Some of these adverts are quite good because future directors were employed. Ridley Scott may have famously done the Hovis advert (when he was 36) but there were some others.

These are great. Strictly speaking, the jingle for the Disco's ad is nothing like in a disco style, so that's probably why they never took off. On a more serious note (if that's possible), Miss Thames TV 1976 is obviously going to be an ogle-fest, and what kind of hallucinogens was Diane Keen on to be spinning an 'I was Nefertiti in a previous life' story to the NOTW?
