Dan, Daniel my brother, you're doing a great job! The buyers are getting great projects, the cars are being saved from the crusher and you're making a little cash. Meanwhile, great videos for us to watch! Congrats! Don't worry about the buyers remorse guys.. .. Signed - Your friend, the Cancer guy. 😊

I feel your pain. I flip cars part time here in Florida, and I get the same 1/2 price offers. I don't even acknowledge them. 16000 for a running camaro? I'm not a camaro guy, and I'll tell you that's darn fair. Yes, it was built in a home garage. Yes, it's not done. Who cares? It's 50 years old! Good for you for knowing your worth.

Hello Dan and Danielle, greetings from Australia. My two favourite video channels are D D Speed Shop and Vice Grip Garage. I really look forward to your daily episodes and find them extremely interesting. Although I am 87 years old, I have never had Dan's expertise and I find it difficult to hear that you get negative responses to your work and your comments. Believe me, I am a fan.

Consider that most restoration shops charge $90-140 an hour locally, so the 62 C10 I built recently took 700 hours. So if you use $100 an hour I would have to charge a client $70,000 for labor alone. Adding in the parts make it a $100,000 truck to pay someone to build. Also consider it is a Rat Rod, so paint and body work would add considerably more time. All this to say that this is why most attempt to do project vehicles themselves and you've given them a HUGE head start! They should be thanking you for the 100 - 200 labor hour head start....aka, $10-20,000 U.S. Dollars Not including the vehicle. ;)

It is bad when someone gets all excited then all of the sudden they don't want it. On the bright side you didn't have to set on it very long. I'm sure that the guy that did buy it will be very happy with it. Those of us that watch all of your videos know all of the work that went into that car. Love the videos guys

If I'm correct $16K Ca is like $12K US, which is reasonable, VERY reasonable when you consider the work already done. It runs even, it's a bargain! They are just NOT to be found affordable, especially not in that condition. You nailed it, restored and unaffordable, or affordable and a roach. If I had cash I'd buy from you in a heartbeat. Shipping is KILLER now! Years ago I only bought high plains cars, having a regular shipper was $800-1200 to Maryland. Now? You cannot even afford to ship project cars, the shipping is as much as the car. Access, you have that now, your weather sucks, but you have cars that cannot be found. ALWAYS demand a non-refundable deposit! Snooze you lose.

The market for classics is much smaller than a lot of people realize. The guys that know what they're get getting, typically figure that they could have done wll your work themselves and the guys that can afford your car/work , dont typically understand the amount of work that youve out into it. So trying to find the person in the middle who has the appropriate cash and knows what they are getting, can be like pulling teeth sometimes

I hear you Dan, dealing withsome people and their issues that they expected to become yours is rediculace. I don't generaly sell stuff but am moving house so stuff has to go. I am now concedering taking it to the scrap yard instead so I don't have to deal with them. A guy low balled me on an item and I was then tempted to add the price diffrance ontop of my original asking price as a responce to his insulting low offer of half price. Just to also say a nother guy came and was more than happy to pay my asking price and took it on the spot. Thats the good and bad side of selling stuff.

Back when I used to sell things on Craigslist (American Kijiji, essentially) I'd price it to move. State that I know it's work $xxx, price it at like 20% below that and say "price is firm, no trades." And I'd always get people wanting to trade a broken down snowmobile and a 12 pack of Bud Light ot something. I feel what you're saying 100%.

I have been looking for good to build and have fun with car. I couldn't get to some of the best buys. I just got a 1972 Buick Skylark 2 door survivor. Great run driver with very litte rust. The guy I bought it from was great I just gave him what he was asking. It has a new gas tank brand new 2.5" dual. only thing that is not in working order is the AC but it all there. I drove 50 miles home up to 80 mph. I'm 58 and have been working on cars since I was 13. my first car was a 1970 AMC Javin Mark Donahue I got for free. I restored a 1973 Z28 in 1982. l love the work your doing I cannot for your next video.

Everyone wants to get the best price they can when they sell something. I'm the same way. On the flip side, I like to buy things as cheaply as I can, doesn't always work out that way but it is what it is. I have a 71 Dodge Demon and really really nice parts are hard to come by and usually expensive. I've been needing a few parts and always look on marketplace and the Facebook groups I'm in. Well last Monday, low and behold, some really nice fenders popped up and the price was reasonable. One catch, he's 850 miles away. So while I'm thinking about the fenders another post comes up where he has a deck lid for sale. Again, another part I really need. So now it's like, what it would cost me to have a body shop straighten out these pieces I could buy from this guy and the cost to drive there and back might be a wash. Well low and behold he had a valance for sale as well....sign me up lol. I made the deal with him that he holds the parts and I will show up. So Thursday I load the wife and the dog in the truck and head to Colorado from Arizona. I drove straight through and got to his house about 8pm Thursday evening. We talk for a bit and I ask if he had a some wiggle room on the price (since I just drove 12hrs to save him the trouble of dealing with tire kickers) and he did...a whole $25 off. 😶...I thought he'd be a little more generous with the wiggle but hey, these are parts I really needed and I figured I make the trip a 3 day vacation so what the heck...I'm still ahead of the game.

Guy next door saw a nice old Mustang for a good price and offered the seller a couple thousand less. Seller got angry and told him to get lost- wouldn't sell him the car even at the asking price. Telling me this, the guy was still mystified- "You always offer less, right?" No, Bozo. Some sellers hate haggling and will price reasonably to avoid it. Offering less just insults them.
