Full Hot Rod Paint Job using Turbo Cans! 56 Chevrolet gets a new look, and there's FIRE!

As soon as we think we are going to have an easy day in the shop, the garage gods decide NOPE! Today was all about painting up the 56 Chevrolet but to do so, we needed to move the 55 Nomad out of harms way- which it clearly did not want to do. So I chase my tail for a few hours trying to figure out why the dang thing won't run and still manage to get a coat of paint on the 56 before the sunset.

The fuel tank in your Nomad will condense water into the fuel. The heat wave you have been experiencing and the evening cool-off will add considerable moisture to the gas in the tank.

🗿💨 the alcohol in todays gas is more vulnerable to moisture absorption than yesteryears gas. New set of problems now, imo

Good luck on the home search. You’re right it is a time consuming stressful process. I hope you move out of the city and into the countryside. I did and I’ll never go back. No noise complaints, relaxing and just overall a great experience. God bless ya hope you find something with a big shop or a great place to build one.

Sherwin-Williams emerald, its guaranteed not to leave any brush strokes, it dries rock hard on the mohs scale, its a hybrid alkyd enamel It needs no primer and can be used on metal or wood.

As I got closer to retirement, we started looking for a place to move to. We didn't want to stay in the big city. It started with a couple of different states, and then narrowed to a couple of different towns. By the time I was a few months from retirement, we had it pretty much dialed in. And then things changed. I could have saved myself a lot of hassle by just waiting until I was four months out. Good luck with your house hunt!

Dan, Chevy balancers are notorious for the rubber wearing out between the hub and outer ring. When this happens, the timing mark on the balancer moves. You may want to find TDC on #1 and verify the mark is pointing at 0 on your timing tab.

In the states, some gas stations sell recreational gas which is alcohol free. No ethanol. This is ideal for seasonal outdoor equipment and extended storage in gas tanks.

You should try clear carpet protector. Comes in 24" wide rolls I cover my windows and all the big stuff..self sticking and peels off easy

I was undercoating the trunk of my mom's '68 Polara, nice car! I saw a pinhole, that I had missed, just as I finished, so I lit up the torch brazing tip just 4 a little plug. Next thing I recall was the flash as I was blown back against the garage wall! U gave me a "flah back",.....lol

I did a rattlecan paint job once that people accused me of having a Maco job done. Any other time I'd have been insulted. But since I had actually sprayed it with Krylon primer and paint I took it as a compliment 😏

Dollar tree sells it it’s octane boost and cleans up the water and add a little bit of oil to your gas tank or transmission fluid or marvel mystery oil. This is an old trick for years and years.
