He should've cooked the butternut squash with garlic, onion, stock, a bit of milk and spices and then put the mix into a blender. After that's done he could add cheese into the butternut squash sauce with some cooked pasta. I've made mac'n'cheese this way sooo many times because I can't have too much cheese and it's reaallly good!

1 box of elbow noodles ($0.89). 1 can of Rico's Premium Aged Cheddar Cheese Sauce (1.98). Boil noodles. Drain. Add contents of can to noodles. Stir to combine. Makes 3 big servings of acceptable mac and cheese for $0.95, or 4 decent servings for $0.72. Ingredients are shelf stable for years and widely available any time of year - unlike butternut squash. I find mine at a corner store with no produce section next to the condoms, motor oil, and scratch off lottery ticket kiosk.

For the mac n cheese I would cook the squash then blend with cream then simmer with cheese. It's extra steps but would make a more traditional looking and tasting mac n cheese. (I use to do something similar for a vegan mac n cheese)

Hey Frankie, could you do a video on budget-friendly homemade pet food or pet treats? We had a "people crackers" recipe in one of our kid cookbooks, and if you make your own you could probably make a cheap food while avoiding fillers (and avoiding some trips to the store during COVID). What are the principles to work with when creating pet food? I'm aware that pets can't take certain spices that humans enjoy, that dogs can be hurt by chocolate or grapes/raisins, that cats are obligate carnivores who need to have meat-based food (even if the owner is vegan)... could you research this and come up with something useful, like maybe a Dog Food, a Cat Food, and a Pet Treat that works for both? Thanks!
