That look on you is very much "Hollywood main character before makeover". Like when a girl is obviously pretty, but you can tell that's not the ultimate gorgeous look they're saving for the end. Or like you're going to a friend's wedding/birthday and want to look put together, but without overshadowing her and drawing too much attention to yourself.

I think I have classic essence because whenever I try to be experimental with my makeup, it feels like too much. This can often just be a brighter lipstick shade, I immediately feel like it overwhelms my face. The same thing happens with jewellery, I will see a piece and love it on someone else but once I put it on myself it feels too done. This makeup look is similar to what I do on a daily basis!

Ohhhh this is almost exactly my everyday makeup, only with more blush and various lips 😅 What is interesting, i consider myself mainly as the mix of the classic and ingenue, so it would fit exactly! I never heard that i look like from the painting, but my most memorable complement was from old man, who told me that I could be his first love in older times, so probably kinda ingenue+classic ish complement? 😁 I think that on you it looks nice but stiff? It didnt make me think "wow, its perfect" as i thought after your romantic and ethereal makeup!

Your description of Classics immediately brought Hannah Louise Poston’s newest fashion video. The way she looks in all her monochrome looks, is SO polished, absolutely strong and lovely. And you brought up Charlotte! The classic paired with vintage! I love her especially in that Dior silhouette when she was evoking big time ingenue energy. ♥️ I don’t think I have a classic essence, but my sister does! One of us is sleek, and the other is fluffy. I do love classic makeup like this, but on me it’ll skew dramatic. I can achieve it best when I do a no mascara, and focus on glowing skin and a bold lip, because Cindy Crawford convinced me as a young woman that a nude lip needs a smoky eye. Your look is very polished and pretty, but it doesn’t highlight your creativity. Why isn’t artsy an essence?

I think this look suits you in a restrained way! It enhances your natural beauty/features without any overpowering factors, but I completely understand feeling bored with it. It kind of looks like something you'd see in movies or TV where the character isn't meant to be wearing makeup but obviously is to the trained eye, haha. So excited for this look, I think you look beautiful, but watching this after ethereal I think you might be more ethereal in my opinion!! I don't know why I hadn't thought of Meryl Streep as a classic but of course! I especially love her looks from the 70s, Joan Didion came to mind a bit too, she always looked so effortlessly chic. I do think I have a bit of this essence and I definitely tend to feel more comfortable with classic makeup & hair, but with fashion, although I do love classic elegant minimalism I sometimes feel the need to play with texture, silhouettes, or incorporate accessories or elements that feel more playful, artistic, ethereal to feel more like myself, lately if I lean too minimalistic/simple I feel a bit depressed haha, I guess this was my look for so long because I liked it and it was easy so now it bores me and even more since it's become extremely popular! So sad that the series is coming to an end because it has been so fun to watch so thank you so much for making it! Hope Toasty feels better!!💕 P.S. I totally agree with your thoughts on Charlotte York, I have barely watched the SATC reboot but I would've thought they would have leaned more into her classic essence and have her be like the quintessential Upper East Side refined lady haha, like Lee Radziwill & even Audrey Hepburn (my forever style icon), it's so weird that they decided to make her style more playful & bold now. It also made me think that it would be so fun to see your take on looks from iconic movie/tv characters that embody each essence!

I think this look is very nice, mainly because it is very gentle and in light colors. It does lack some shimmer and weightlessness. I believe you have a very prominent Ethereal essence with a hint of Romantic. The shimmer you added to the eyes and lips are touches that a Classic essence wouldn’t necessarily need, but your Ethereal essence calls for them. The overall colors also seem a bit too neutral, the colors you used in the Ethereal makeup video are definitely better. I’d say your blend is 75% Ethereal and 25% Romantic, perhaps? I'm loving this series of videos, please keep adding Kitchener essence content like this! You seem to have a very good grasp of the types. 😊😊✨

I often get asked for help, I guess as a Gamine I seem unintimidating😂 I don't think anyone looks truly bad in a Classic makeup look since it is so moderate. I agree tho', the wow-factor is missing. While I would also look fine in a Classic makeup look, it's not my vibe. I usually emphasize eyes, lips and cheeks equally with my makeup look, but I like to use bold colors or even mismatched shades. I would assume that monochromatic looks would be great for Classics if they want to wear color, but on me they look kind of dull even if I choose a vibrant color.

While you look beautiful as always, I don't think this look did the most for your features. It may be that classic doesn't suit you, but it could also be thrown off by the black turtleneck. Specifically, the black top with your coloring calls for more contrast in your makeup look in order to remain balanced. Without the contrast, the black washes you out. With a different color top, the look may appear incredible. By itself, the makeup works--even the "neutral" lip is very pretty--you just need more in order to pull off black. I love this series! I think you shine brightest in natural and ethereal/oneiric. ❤❤❤

With the Kitchener essences, it’s a lot more about your face so totally ignore your body when trying to figure this one out. The Kibbe system is all about body and wardrobe and I find the two systems can work hand in hand to find your special blend. I’m about to film what some people call “the lost essence” which is called “oneiric”… it seems very elusive and unique so perhaps you have some of that (more on that in the video, I still have some more research to do!) 👀

I think she definitely has a bit of classic in her blend, but also a lot of natural in there since she looks so good in those looser styles… but they’re slightly simpler clothes instead of boho styles so that’s the classic playing into it.

I think you look really nice in this, but I also understand why you don't vibe with it. Like, if I were to fully buy into this system I would probably have to consider whether I might have some romantic essence based on my body type, but that is simply so opposed to my personality that I refuse and wouldn't care if Kitchener himself told me I had it. (I feel the same way about ingenue, but I'm pretty confident no one would say that about me, so I'm safe haha.) Nothing about romantic styling would make me my most living self even though some of it *does* objectively look good on me, and I think the same deficit is there for you with classic.

You look lovely as always, but this look feels incomplete to me, in a way. Like more of an eyeliner, or more blush, or a bolder lip. I feel similarly to when you did the Natural Essence video. I'm probably mixing up Classic with Romantic or Dramatic, but my thought of a 'classic' makeup is more Old Hollywood Glamour. OR Balance to the features with more to the eyes, lips, and face. Still balanced, but a little darker- like a monochromatic look, which I know you did with the Gamine look. You strike me more as ethereal than classic, but I feel like you have both.

Yes the classic makeup you’re thinking of is definitely the romantic style! It’s tricky when learning systems like this because we already have associations with certain words and descriptors so it can be hard to unlearn! Classics can definitely go a bit more bold, like you said, but someone with this dominant essence would still look great with this very neat and clean look
