YES, YES, YES! I know warm mustard and orange tones mark the start of fall for most people, but for me it's cooler tones. In summer when I'm more tan (and the warm tones come through) I feel like cool tones don't look as nice on my eyes. You did a stunning look, as per usual ;-)

I am exactly the same. Maybe it's my warm olive undertone. I get very "Mediterranean golden olive" in the sun, and I go for very warm makeup and clothes. Come autumn, I take out my ABH Rose Metals and ND Mini Glam and Midi Glam for the pukey grungy greens and rich metalguns. And for some reason mustard (esp. UB Naked Honey) is for spring! :D

⁠@@berlineczkathe pukey grungey greens 🤣 same here! Im very neutral olive, so when the tan starts fading and those neutral cool tones come through the warm shadows make me look screechy and bloodshot. Pukey greens and neutral cools come out to play for my shadows.

I turned 40 this year and I am relating to the discussion of style discovery so much right now, I went through a fave the last few years that I was trying more muted medium contrast looks and colors in both my clothing and makeup but recently I’ve stared exploring more brightness and contrast in my clothing and makeup and I’m really seeing how washed out and all muted look made me, keeping the muted softness to more of the blending elements of my looks in my makeup and clothing and I am finding I carry it really well and it’s brining more life to my skin and eyes if I keep the muted elements for blending and cohesion, I think I was afraid of brightness overwhelming me but you’re right it’s about the balance you don’t have to do all or nothing 😀

Green smokey eye look is something out of my comfort zone but anytime I've done that i just love it. I have reddish blonde hair and greens always compliment redheads. I used to think smokey eyes were mainly just for black and brown colors but add in forest greens, maybe a little gold in the inner corner and a bold black mascara and you can create some magic I love this silver spatkly eye look paired with your lip color! It looks beautiful on you

I think your soft features with the full lips and flowing red hair look so vintage and glamorous. Sounds like your own interpretation of "whimsygoth" would work for you. You might prefer the more mature, sensual side of romantic combined with some ethereal elements like silver & moonstone & sparkles paired with something that has an edge. I know for me it can be very seasonal. I like a smokier eye & gravitate to darker, richer colors & velvet in the Winter & lots of white (natural/ivory)& light blue/light green gauzey & very natural makeup in the Summer. Currently our region's temps are in the high 90s/low 100s so I haven't caught the Fall Vibe yet but I'm itching to break out those cooler weather clothes for sure. I love that all your makeup looks are very "wearable" & easy to recreate. You create a mood/aesthetic without veering into cliche' territory. It's always beautiful & balanced & not too much :)

This reminded me so much of the look I used to often go for in the late 90s / early 2000s... shimmery, sparkly (often silvery) eyeshadow with smudgy eyeliner. That Kaleidos palette you used was like a much more sophisticated version of these mini Urban Decay palettes that were the height of cool girl makeup when I was in college. I loved your take on this and how you captured the the essence of Ethereal Grunge so well.

If you want to add some edge/modern to your otherwise "traditionally feminine" style (this was my case as well), I suggest tattoos. piercing and unnatural hair colours. Edgy/rocky/gothic jewellery is also an option, as are chunky boots. If you want to go vintage, mix some steampunk in. Leather, corsets, harnesses, metal elements in the clothing too. Another option for hair could be adding texture (think Kurt Cobain hair - dry shampoo for the matte and "unkept" look, some texturising spray. Or maybe beach waves salt spray and scrunches. Or messy beehive like Amy Winehouse).

This is awesome! I just read something earlier today about “soft goth” makeup. This sort of enters that territory. Would love to see your approach to that style! Loved this look as well. Yes, I’ve hear of soft goth! That would be a fun makeup look to try! I used to wear uniforms at my past jobs and it really inhibited my personal style and made it to much more difficult to explore. Scarlett Darkness sounds familiar! I’ll check em out

I love grungy gray shades so much, and my favorite eye makeup for the past few years has been cool gray or taupe with a glittery shimmer topper. My default eyeliner is UD Desperation (deep taupe to gray). It always feels “right”. Love this!
