I just got a 65 f100 with manual steering. Take both arms to turn the steering wheel. Think this might help

It could. A basic front end alignment might help too. If the caster is too high it makes manual steer vehicles really tough to turn. People always neglect this but it’s a hill I will die on. Spend $300 on a new project by replacing steering components like tie rod ends and get a front end alignment. You will get more bang for the buck that way as far as making a fun driver than you will out of speed parts. …….then after you do that buy the speed parts lol Oh and if someone put really fat rubber under the front go to a skinnier tire.

@@CatfishMotorsports Lol Ty sir !!! I was looking at the conversion kits but they all seem to require the column being cut .

You actually arent in a bad position there. Ford in the 60s used that wonky power ram system on their power steering cars. But if you do a power steering swap kit like from Borgeson with a saginaw type power steering gear they usually tell you you have to use manual steering components. In your case what that means is if you replace your manual steering linkage with new components, then later decide you still want to go with a power steering kit, you havent wasted any money. Also I would say that while it might seem intimidating, pulling out your steering shaft to put in one of those PS kits really isnt a big deal at all. Seems worse than it is.

@@CatfishMotorsports I don’t know if this matters but my truck was a manual 3 on the tree and someone added an automatic c6 . I could probably do the swap myself besides the shortening the column . There’s gotta be an even swap lol ?

Might, might not. I glanced at Borgeson's site. It says it wont work with a 3 on the tree, but maybe thats only if you are actually using the bolt action shifter. You arent. I would see two options there if you cant use your factory shaft. You could buy a used factory floor shift steering column for your model. Probably plentiful. That would allow you to do whatever mod needs to happen to that shaft, out of your truck. Meaning you wouldnt have to have your truck down for it. Then you could swap it all in ready to go. You could also look to see if there is an aftermarket shaft that would fit with the PS kit without the need for modification. Maybe pick up a creature comfort like tilt steering while you are at it.
